Biography of Bobby Harden
Instrument: VocalsURL: http://www.bobbyharden.com
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Bobby started singing in the church at the age of 13. He developed his vocal style as lead singer for three church choirs. The spiritual roots in his music can be felt today. The Soul that comes across loud and clear in his performances is nothing short of persuasive, and dance is an integral part of the equation.
As a college student in Houston, Texas, Bobby formed NYOTA RECORDS and recorded his first two songs, "I Found Love When I Found You" and "Tell Me You Want My Lovin'." He moved to New York in 1989, and gained recognition with early gigs at the Village Gate and a role in the Columbia University production of Hair.
He continues to be a force in New York music scene, appearing with his band regularly in clubs such as LeBar Bat, Manny's Car Wash, Terra Blues, Turning Point and Lola. He is also lead singer for the Blue Tones Band, Heart and Soul band and performs often with the Chris Carter Band. He is featured on Carter's CD Up All Night, and appears with Carter at Philadelphia's annual festival, "Jam on the River."
