It's still Never Too Late To Mend!  Return to Movie NewsIn response to our previous story, Jeff from The Blooze Brothers has let us know that Joliet Prison will reopen to the public on July 18th! According to the official site: You'll be welcomed by colorful signage in all directions on your way to 'Get Locked Up... At the Old Joliet Prison.' Once you arrive, a HUGE Steel and Barbed Wire entry sign will beckon you in to a park unlike any other. 8 Information kiosks on offer an insight into the prison's past and inmate history as well as the famous films that have been 'shot' here. You'll also learn about the exciting Joliet attractions just down the road, like restaurants, hotels, and historic information too! The Grand Opening will take place on Saturday July 18th from 1-5PM and feature: *LIVE Blooze Brothers Band *Food & Drink by the Joliet Exchange Club *Kid’s Activities by KidsWork Children’s Museum & Joliet Area Historical Museum *Joliet Police Department Child Safety ID’s - with photos and finger printing *Free give-aways by 97.1 The Drive *Free Mug Shots &/or costumed pictures in front of the Old Joliet Prison!
