Well after a long debate....I have decided to sell her. This is a one owner 1974 Dodge Monaco 4-door sedan, 56000 original miles, 400 big block 4 barrel...all original. I bought from original owner from West VA, she was 90 years old. I have all original paperwork and dealers invoice. Car is in fantastic shape with just a little rust in the drivers rear quarter and a spot around drivers back glass. The interior is mint tan leather, even carpet is perfect. Car has been garage kept since day 1. This is the nicest 4 door sedan Monaco I have ever seen and was overwhelmed when I had I chance to buy it. Car runs and drives, chrome and bumpers are perfect. I removed vinyl from roof to assess any rust issues. Looks good, paint is still in great shape. You will not be disappointed with this car. Comes with a mint 140 police speedo, NOS spotlight and bracket, 4 brand new toyo tires, New Eaton 6 leaf police car HD rear leaf springs, Very Rare 9.25 posi rear with disc brakes, Custom made Bluesmobile decals and reproduction Mount prospect door decals. Police rear sway bar , 440 hp police dual snorkel air cleaner and a complete 70's vintage police radio. I have about $15000 invested into this car and all the parts. Need cash ASAP...asking $10000 for everything. Will ship..you make all the arrangements. Contact me for questions.

Thanks.....I know the price is a lot for a Bluesmobile, but this car is super nice. Also have the paint and a lot of other misc parts to go with it. The car has new tires on it already and a set of new Toyos are not even mounted yet. Taking offers before I put it on dabay. Need to sell ASAP.

Got them from a fellow in Canada.....I am pretty sure he is a member of this forum....because I got his info off this site...It was an old posting from 2004 I think. I will be posting the 74 on dabay Sunday..if I have any takers from this site, I will take $9200 cash for everything. Thanks for all the comments. Financial reasons force sell.

I will still take a reasonable offer for the 74 from any members here. I did not advertise any of the bluesmobile parts in the ebay ad. Man, I hate to sell her but I really need the cash right now. I will never find another one this nice. My favorite quote from the movie...Aretha to Matt "Guitar " Murphy".... I got two honkies out here dressed like Mercedes-diamond merchants"....one wants toast..plain..the other one wants four whole fried chickens and a coke. I watched the movie Friday night for the 237th time. My wife thinks I am a nut because I can quote the whole movie.:)

bluzman, Aretha does say "Mercedes" in BB2000, when she says to Matt, "You and I have got a good little business here, with the cash from the sale of the coffee shop, and that got us started with this Mercedes dealership..."

Is this a ballpark figure or have you actually kept track? I have no idea how many times I've seen BB2000, let alone the original... :)

Yeah..I approximated on the 237...but it has to be damn close. I watched it again last night on DVD and there is a lot of takes that are not shown on the TV version. I think it would be cool to remake the movie today with as many of the original artists that are still living. I am not sure who would play jake....maybe John Popper from Blues Traveler....maybe have them rolling in a bad ass 1974 resto modded Monaco with a 6.1 Hemi.......Hey...just thinking out loud here. Oh yeah...someone buy my Monaco!!!!!

Hi Bluzman:

BM4you is in Germany and looking for 4 non-rusty doors:
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/bluesmobiles-sale/11144-chicago-police-car-dodge-monaco-1974-77-a.html#post116159
I threw out the (unlikely but possible) idea of him waiting for a solid garage-kept Monaco, and then buying it with another purchaser - he gets the doors; they get the rest. So maybe send him a PM and direct him to your e-bay auction. It's a long shot, as your car is so much more than just a set of doors, but you never know how things might get the bidding action going.

Can you post pics of the inside trunk? I'm curious if you have the cardboard protector shown in pics 11 & 12 here:
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/bluesmobiles/10217-theres-new-marin-county-sheriff-town-2.html#post115360
and if the spare tire is in the location shown in pic 13.

It looks to have single exhaust; that surprised me as I thought (without much evidence) all 74 Monaco big blocks had dual exhaust. Can you post a pic of the fender tag - it would be interesting to break down the codes.

your friend in appreciation of a SWEET car,
arthur
