Hi all:
I attach the following pics I have; I don't know where they originated, but they look like real pics taken at the same time the movie was filmed. And they're higher resolution than screen-shots, and from different angles, which could give us more info about the car. I intersperse screen shots, named by the hour/minute/second on my dvd. For accuracy considerations, I'd consider these almost as "good" as screen shots (for me, the car(s) in the promo shots with are just for advertising - not the "real" bluesmobile).

Well, I can't attach them here - because they are hi-res and exceed the board limits. I created this album to show them. Let me know if they don't show up.

I found the following things interesting:

Some seem to show the white/black dividing line on the c-pillar not as low at the front edge of the c-pillar as we expect (see kids jumping on car).

It takes the bluesmobile 4 seconds at speed to drive 20 feet past the t-shirt stand.

In the mall, the car hits a body (presumably a mannequin) which goes flying.

If we had the Daly-fall-apart shot in color, it looks like it would show us the color of the metal dash and below the padded dash (I'm guessing its either tan or black). Also from the angle, it seems that particular bluesmobile did NOT have A/C, as the passenger dash vent area has the blockoff plate (and notice the back of the front seat is missing).

The shot of the car jumping over the Pinto is a great shot of the red primer.

Compare the undercarriage area between the radiator support and the bumper in the two jump shots. What is that extra piece in the first shot? Is it DIY box to seal the radiator against the front grill?

Have these, or similar hi-res pics been posted? In color? I saw a set of slides going on e-bay a while back, but I don't remember it containing any shots of the bluesmobile.

your friend in considering research sources other than just screen shots,
arthur

I noticed those pics when TK put a link to a picture of Eddy Donno and Dennis Hopper. It comes from Tony Donno's page (Eddy's son) at the Stunts Unlimited website. There's some rather amazing pictures there of behind the scenes stuff.

Synergy - bluesmoriphic synergy I tell you!

Cheoperative, nice pic - and Steam, cool link to the source!
I went to Tony's stunt page and saw two Blues Brothers pics, clicked on them, and said to myself "it sure would have been nice if the page included hi-res pics", and then saw the link "view full size". So the same pic is even higher-res than Cheoperative's pic. I added them to my album linked in my original post.

pic 1 shows a screen-shot of the movie.

pic 2 shows the car after it finishes its rotation back (not in the movie) [it's a rotate and crop of the highest-res picture at Tony's site] It looks like the frame is "tweaked" and that the hood curves down at the front of the car. A good side comparison is the shot of the car outside the Church. And something crazy is going on with the pushbar.

Dugal: I posted all the pics I had, but I'm excited to capture even more here!

I just noticed that photobucket un-hi-res'd my pics when it stored them.

The flip-over-backwards pic on Tony's stunt page here:
http://api.ning.com/files/asw1vvS4-RpKYC13IE9byh1qtF16o*iGDNXIYW1XjAxSnH8XYF23KAUnIDSNd4bZCfRQr2XnzehaLZTBTekp7dMHMR-IUfYC/blu.jpg
is 1866 x 1266

I posted that pic to my photobucket page
blu.jpg picture by sigmfsk - Photobucket
where the pic is now only 1024 x 700.

I read here:
Photobucket Photo Sharing Service Review
> Photobucket also automatically forced me to reduce the image size to 1024×768.
and it recommends using Flickr over photobucket.

So I posted all the original hi-res pics here:
Flickr: sigmfsk's Photostream

I went to verify the sizes on Flickr, and see that it too limited the size to 1024. Here's a thread showing how flickr reduces the size for free accounts:
Flickr: The Help Forum: Photo limit of 1024 x 680

Anybody know of a free photo service where I can post these large pics? The kids-dancing-on-the-car pic is the largest at 4Mb 2984x2046.

arthur

Thanks TK. I almost took you up on it, but then remembered that I could host it myself if I got off my lazy hiney. So I put them all here:

You can tell I'm not a web-wizard, but I think the page gets the job done. Let me know if you notice any problems.

I'm wondering what still shots of the movie bluesmobiles are out there, hi-res or not.

I'm looking for pics that might shed some light on the "Monaco" emblem or exterior spotlight mounting situations.

We have the pics I've collected at the earlier listed link.

There are production stills here:
The Blues Brothers Gallery
from here
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/bluesmobiles/10971-what-were-little-holes-were-bluesmobile-front-orphanage.html#post114371

And there are three marketing shots of which I'm aware.

----------

pic 1 from
Blues Brothers Image Gallery, Blog, and Items For Sale
not much there, other than DODGE is on the header panel (but not in the movie).

----------

pic 2 from
The Blues Brothers | One Guy Rambling

and there's a larger version here
Island Collectibles & Fine Custom Picture Framing
it's too big to attach here, but I drop the car portion and attach as pic 3.

Its advertised as an original movie poster, $250.00. Is that a good price for that?
Does anybody have one that we could put a magnifying glass on? If I bought it for $250 and could sell it for not too huge of a loss, and it provided clear indication of what the Monaco emblem looked like, I wouldn't be too sad. Although I fear that even with a microscope, the poster may not have sufficient resolution to show anything in great detail.

----------

pic 4 from
Picture of The Blues Brothers

It looks like this was available as a 35mm print, because I see an example of one signed in pic 5
Blues brothers image by cck43 on Photobucket

----------

Anybody have any of these in 35mm prints or negatives or posters or any other still shots known?

your friend in trying to get enough info that somebody responds to my Monaco emblem post,

arthur

I saw pic 1 here:
BB1) 1 STRIP OF 35MM FILM CELLS THE BLUES BROTHERS 2000 on eBid United Kingdom

and was wondering, what the heck scene that was from. I don't remember the sister sitting in front of a TV in the movie. The seller doesn't know; she just has a lot of film snippets.

I thought maybe I'd get a clue from the "Blues Brothers Private" book. I recalled there was a pic of Jake & Camille together that wasn't in the movie.

Nothing in the book about the sister in front of a TV, so if you have an idea, please let me know.

But I also thought to scan all the pics of the bluesmobile. I attach all here, cropped and shrunken to get the size to fit. I don't think it's really worth having these in hi-res, as I don't think there's anything extra to be gained from them over what we already have in the hi-res selection.

But a couple of notes:
pic 2 looks like the exact same pic as:
http://www.weekendaternies.com/bluespics/2-12-15-alt.jpg

So that pic, showing a bluesmobile without air conditioning, wasn't in the movie (the rightmost dash A/C duct was obscured by the seat back), but it was in "Blues Brothers Private".

pics 3 and 4 we've seen before.

pic 5 may have a straight antenna; hard to get much from the picture.

I found pic 6 interesting. Check out the duct tape on the fender, rocker panel, and quarter panel. I'm guessing that this cabling was for a camera mounted on the front, that faced inside the car for the beach scenes that we saw in the movie. It's rather along the lines of the camera mount theory of the square "holes" shown in the orphanage scene:
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/bluesmobiles/10971-what-were-little-holes-were-bluesmobile-front-orphanage.html#post114371
