Just discovered other works by the Rev. James Cleveland and his Community Choir of Southern California. On the back of watching the Coen Brothers' "Ladykillers" - some great gospel music reminscent of the Rev. Cleophus James.

Anyone know of other GREAT gospel music of the same caliber? On film or record?

Thanks - I remembered the song, couldn't remember who it was by. Staple Singers as well... 'Respect Yourself'. Keep the Gospel suggestions rolling in, and bear in mind that Gospel Music was indeed at the very roots of Soul.

My question is this. Of all the shots of the choir, there is only one blonde white singer. She is the the back, right hand side. Anyone know who she is and if there is any significance.

I looked quickly on Google to see if I could find a list of the choir members, but I couldn't.

She's there because she's in the choir is my guess.
