So, my boyfriend got me hooked on Halo, it started with watching Red vs Blue (I support Blue by the way) and the next thing I know I'm being used for target practice on Halo 2.

Anyway, tonight I bought my first Halo game (3) and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Reach. I was wondering if anyone has tips for a noobie like myself (so I dont end up like the n00bs in RvB) and can actually beat my boyfriend when we play.

I was also wondering if anyone else is waiting for the day Reach comes out, it looks pretty awesome.

Well, I can't play FPS's AT ALL (unless it's a rail shooter like House of the Dead) but I like the series, I read the books (some of my favorites) and watch Red vs. Blue (Go Blue!) and I will NEVER play a game you're supposed to lose (like Reach, where it's the FALL of Reach is what started the original game.)

And, damn, I'm old school. My Atari 2600 is one of my favorite game systems luckily there's this! Halo 2600 by Ed Fries

joking, of course.

My whole experiece with FPS is GoldenEye64, yeah.......I suck at Forge mode on Halo2. They have Halo books?! I have got to read those, I heard there had been talk of a movie but it had been shelved.

You're suppoed to loose Reach? What's the point of that?! .......I think I need to play the original game......

My favorite FPS is GoldenEye. I did NOT like The World Is Not Enough's MP mode...terrible. Halo is a great game series, though I don't like the XBox controllers. Everything is too far away and I don't like the feel of the controller.

GoldenEye is an amazing game, it never gets old. I've never played World is Not Enough, was it an good aside from MP mode?

What's wrong with te XBox controllers? The ones I cant stand are the Wii, that system was not very well thought out.

I'm getting better at Halo, yay! Once I'm done H2 it is on to H3 *celebrates* But that is a long way off yet....

Want a tip? Sure! Start up "Forge" and play around in the different maps, learn the layout of the map, create some targets to practice on and create all weapons so you get trained. Oh, and make sure you have fun!

TWINE has a good single player mode, yes. Most of the dialogue from the movie is in the game, and it follows the story closely.

The Wii controllers can be a bit of a hassle, yes, but the XBox controllers are too fat.

Thanks for the tip about Forge Mode, I totally forgot about that. I've been so busy on the campain mode, I am proud to say that I have not run over a single marine with the jeep for a whole week! Yay!

I've never watched the movie TWINE, but I will have to look into it, who played Bond in that one?

Well, a little while ago I made it through H2 in one piece, and I am working on the third one. I must also be out of my mind because on Monday I went out and preordered Reach.

Anyway, the questions. Um, I have been told that the Shotgun and dual SMGs are no longer my best friends when it comes to the Flood in the third game. Is that true? My boyfriend says that now I would need an Energy Sword, and Fuel Rod to make it through the level "Cortana".

The level "Cortana" is quite frustrating, but the shotgun is one of the best weapons to take the flood. SMG's are not that useful since the bullets go THROUGH the flood without hurting them. Now, somewhere in the level there is a flamethrower, and that is probably the best weapon against flood. Now, while the energy-sword is powerful, you need to come up close 'n personal, and that is not the best idea against flood. So, the short version: Use shotgun, any fire-based weapon (flamethrower, flame granades) and/or plasma weapons. If anything is unclear, please, tell me :D Good luck, Marty out :D

PS. I'll include a walkthrough for "Cortana", you should be able to browse to other walkthroughs from the bottom of that site!

Thanks Marty, I never would have thought to use plasma weapons on the Flood cus that didnt go well for me in the last game.

Pierce Brosnan, and this film, IMO, is his best performance as Bond.
