Hi to all at Blues Brothers Central. Joliet Jonny here (singer/harp/frontman for the band.) FIRST, I would really like to apologize for not staying in touch with the forum and this site. There are many true excuses but none really good enough so I'll just have to say I'm sorry and hope that you understand. (I was responsible for turning Blue Lou onto the site and he keeps me up to date so - I guess I get a little credit for that, huh? No?) Anyway, I'll try to be better even though my schedule is worse than ever. That's a good thing I guess. We (the Blues Brothers Band) recently got back from a date in Italy (near Milan) and two dates in Greece, Thessaloniki and Athens (although Thessaloniki was rained out). On September 25th we will be doing a show in Cannes, France and I can't wait. We have been doing a lot of songs from Briefcase Full Of Blues lately and it's been great. Also, this winter I spent a great deal of time with Steve "The Colonel" Cropper and he and I have been doing some shows together with other bands backing us up. More about that later. I heard rumors of a BBB date in Paris and possibly a few in Japan in the Fall but nothing confirmed yet. Stay tuned. Mostly, I wanted to start a thread to say thanks again for all your support. I am going to push for more Europe dates! We should do that!! Hope to see you soon. All the best, Joliet Jonny

Hey nice to have you back!
What about some gigs in germany? I know it's not as warm as the south of france, but we and the climate crisis are working on it ;)

Well, I would love to do some dates in Germany and I think I'll pass this thread onto management. No need to change the climate there. it's perfect. Just have the German beer ready and we'll all be good to go!
Thanks

That would be great!!!
Lots of great city we have.
- Hamburg (by the sea with a great harbor)
- Munich (well beer)
- Berlin (the best city in the world - my point of view  )

I've been to all three and yes, they are great cities. I have ancestry from Germany but I don't know where. My wife's father was from Heidelberg. We'll see if we can get there soon.
All the best,
Joliet Jonny

Nice to see you here again, Jonny!

Hope you´ll play in Spain again soon! The fact you´re doing more tunes from the first album sounds interesting enough to move to enjoy another gig from the band!

Hope everything´s ok!

Hi David,
Hope you are well. If we get to Spain, you'll be the first to know! We're all enjoying mixing the set up. I'll try to keep you informed along the way. Cheers for now! j

What we REALLY need are dates in the USA.

I was going to discuss this with Steve a couple months ago when I saw him but he was at the end of a long night.

At least red wine is good for the heart, LOL!

And that's why Steve's heart is so big. Lot's of red wine. I agree and so does the band re: USA dates. I am going to bring this up at rehearsal next week. Thanks and ... cheers,

ANY band info is always appreciated.

How about talking to Steve (or ultimately Dan) about the BBB having an OFFICIAL page so that we can keep track of who / what / when and where with regards to the band.

Again, I stress that the BBB is a product of the US of A and we never get any shows.

Thanks for your updates Jonny, we appreciate them.

I think the main problem is that you got Dan and Jim doing their Blues Bros. shows there, and we (the europeans) got the chance to see the band since the end of the 80´s ("Live From Montreux", Larry Thurston & Eddie Floyd...).

I don´t know if the public (and I mean all kind of public, not the BB maniacs like us) when they see something related to the Blues Brothers wanted Elwood & Zee over the band or not. I prefer The Band more than The Blues Brothers (I adore Dan Aykroyd´s works, but the band have a better selection of musicians -and better vocalists- than The Sacred Hearts). Anyway, I think I saw some interviews with band members where they said that he got more "luck" in Europe than in USA...

But as Cropper Classic said, any info by the band themselves is always appreciated...
