Hello all!
So, I've got two interesting problems with my 1973 Ford LTD Bluesmobile.
First, someone decided to bust out my drivers side front window. Yeah, fun, since I can't find a replacement easily. My body style is a 53, anyone have any helpful hints as to where I can find one?
Secondly, with all of the work I've been doing to the car, I discovered that my transmission filter pan is leaking. I replaced the gasket last night, but it's leaking in the same exact spot it was. The pan is bent in that spot...... and I'm afraid to bend it back, but I'm thinking it won't be such a bad thing to try. What's the worst that could happen, it would leak? It's already doing that just fine......
Any suggestions for my issues would be awesome! Thanks!
2 interesting problems....

Off the top of my head, I'd say go for it.
Like you said, what could happen that hasn't already?
If it's really bad, maybe even use a few different body hammers and
mold it back into perfect shape.
As for the window, again I'd go with..

Sorry to hear about the smashed window.
Anything stolen, or was it just a random act?
I hate having cars smashed and broken into...or better yet, stolen.
It's happened to me more than a few times.

Nothing was stolen..... anyone who even remotely knows me knows the Bluesmobile has always been unlocked. They could have just tried to open the door! The neighbor across the street saw it, he said they drove up from the opposite direction so the drivers side windows were right next to each other, he said there was a crash, then the car drove off. So they didn't even get out of the car to bust my window!
I've also noticed 4 different 4 door cars in I'd say a 10 block radius that have plastic over their driver side windows. So I'm thinking it's some jerks idea of a good evening!
Also, I found a crapload of C6 replacement pans that I can get for it, but I'm going to try the hammer as soon as I locate a pan local in case that plan goes wrong, haha.

UPDATE!!!
Found a window today, and only 45 minutes north of me at a GIANT wrecking yard, 53 acres of hunks of junk, there were lots of old state Plymouth Fury's there, it was pretty cool I must say. Cost me $80, but hey, I'll keep the snow out!
Also, my fender is fully finished, it looks brand new!
And, turns out my leak wasn't the transmission pan (even though I now have the new deep well one on there now, it was the dipstick leaking! Got the grommet seal for only $3, and spent at LEAST $30 in transmission fluid!
I also just did an oil change, so I'm pretty happy!

That IS a good update.
And
> GIANT wrecking yard, 53 acres of hunks of junk
that IS a giant wrecking yard. That's a fun couple of hours just walking around looking at everything.
Nice job on getting things back in order.
your friend in orderly things,
arthur

Hey! If you'd like to try to find the yard, it's called Stark Wrecking in Germantown on Rt.4. I just went to Google, looks like they have a TON of information on them.
I should have shapped some pictures! I'll have to do so next time I go up, because I wanna get the seat belts out of the LTD so I have a spare set. A lot of the Fury's I saw were the round body newer ones, but they had SOOOO much, it was hard to see everything at once! Best way was to call, I dialed them, gave them my make, model, and body type, and he went to check for me and called me back!
Next time I go, I'll take my camera and snap some photos for you guys!
