.. for the first time in many years.
I couldn't get over the character Dan played in that. Harry Sultenfuss is quite staid and serious when compared to some of his other roles and I really enjoyed both his interactions with his daughter and his awkward, self-deprecating attempts at wooing Jamie Lee Curtis. He made me miss my own dad.
I saw "My Girl" the other day..

INORITE?? Me too! He's such a...well, DAD type there. It knocks off my usual "squee, he's dreamy" train.

I know! I think it's the fact that he's such a distant dad in the beginning of the film. And he has a hard time relating to his child and he's raising her in an environment surrounded by death and the terrible tragedies that happen to people. And over the course of the narrative, we get to see how much affection he has for the people around in him -- his brother, Shelley, his daughter -- and we see him learn how to express it and reach out to people more. I absolutely love that.
