I've tried joining the Blues Slasher social group by going to the main page, but I don't see a "Join Group" button, tab or link. Am I missing something on the page?

I already spoke with takkeung. She's as mystified as I am. It's a moderated group, not an "invitation only" so it's open to all. The main page should have a "Join Group" tab.
Again, unless I'm missing something..?

No worries. I sent a message to the forum administrator. And it's possible I'm just missing something -- the directions for joining look simple, but maybe I'm misreading them.

It may be that you need a specific number of posts...

Seems to be working now. When I logged in this morning and tried it, there was a "Join Group" tab.

This is sort of a part II to my question about joining social groups: how long after submitting a "join request" does it take to become a member of a social group? (I've had a request in for nine days on one group)
Is it a decision made by the group's moderator?

I'm on the street, I'm talking out of my head,
This dumb brick wall ain't heard a word
That I've said.."

It's decided whenever the group mod happens to notice it in their Notifications section. It doesn't popup alert like PMs can.

Aside from sections that are 18+, I don't understand the point of social groups. I never see anything in them that is different than what goes on the main boards, so all it does is create a new level of things to check.
