From this site:
Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth Rear Axle Dimensions
it looks like all c-bodies had either a 8.25 or a 9.25 axle.

From this site:
Rear Axles: Mopar Rear Axle Dimensions and Identification: 1962 to 1989
8.25 = 10 bolt
9.25 = 12 bolt

This awesome site:
Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
shows dozens of 74 Monaco-fitting 12-bolt axle assemblies, starting at $50.

Why not an 8 3/4? There will prolly be alot more of those available. Thier also plenty strong.

Most every early c body had em, but if your going for the authentic cop car, I guess the 9 1/4 is more what your looking for.

I got mine from a '77 New Yorker 440 car. Perfect bolt-in fit.
