...it's a small world, ain't it?

Me and the wifey were cruising Neptune Beach this afternoon, and we stopped at a C-Store to pick up a couple of diet drinks....when I sauntered back outside, I was surprised to find a '74 Monaco Bluesmobile parked next to my Caddy! Man, I was stoked...that car looked sweet....so, I hung outside like a vagrant, until the young fellow who owned it came outside, and I waylaid him....

Turns out the guy's name is Aaron, and he and his dad are on the BBC as "DavenAaron"...they posted a intro back in '08, but haven't been on since. I talked the BBC up to him, and hopefully he'll hop back on to sahre some info and pics of his car. I normally carry my camera everywhere, but for reasons unknown today, I left it at home, so I have n o pics....:)....what I can tell you though, is that it's a '74 with a 360 V-8, it's a postless 4-door sedan, and Aaron told me they bought it off ebay a couple years ago from Nebraska, and it had a beige exterior before they worked their spray-can magic.

Aaron's a cool guy, and invited me back sometime to take pics (he works at the C-Store), so I think I'll cruise back in a couple of weeks to snap some pics for the forum here....or, you can see them here:

Steam, dude....I was having a brain-fart moment....I couldn't think of the correct term! :D

Yeah...I hope to get a pic of the cars together sometime this year; I'm also going to let Aaron and his dad know about the Blumo Reunion this year, in case they can make it. ;)

Another funny part of the story that happened just a few seconds before I met Aaron: While waiting outside, I noticed this non-descript buff stud-muffin, replete in his clingy Underarmor tee and his silky sissy-shorts, come prancing out of the C-store with his vitamin drink. He started walking towards me, where I stood waiting by the Blumo; I met his gaze, and asked him, "Hey...is this your baby?"

You shoulda seen the look of horrified look of disgust on his face. "Uh...no!" he emphasized, in his haughty, Valley-boy voice and rolling his eyes. Then, he walked past me and the Blumo and got into a 40-grand convertible Audi sports car, and sped off.

The wife looked at me and said. "Did you see his face?" We both fell out laughing....I'm telling ya, it was priceless!

The best part of that whole episode is an ironic fact that I pointed out to my wife: Despite this guy spending boucou dollars on his flashy German car in an effort to be noticed, the Blumo does that at only a fraction of the cost...put the two side-by-side and ask a normal, everyday Joe on the street which one he recognizes and truly notices, and he'll pick the Blumo every time (unless he's been living under a rock for the last 30 years).

Great stuff. http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum2/public/style_emoticons/default/icon_cool.gif

Dave & Aaron posted a reply that had to be approved just now (I think it got auto-filtered because the URL in it), so I'm bumping the thread just in case anyone missed it. It's cool when fellow fans meet unexpectedly. :D

Hey Aaron! That is really cool to bring your Bluesmobile to the football game. I had no idea the WFA had so many teams. And obviously your hometown girls are a force to be reckoned with. Look at this seasons scores so far!!

April 24 @ Tampa Bay Pirates ---- W 63-0
May 1 Carolina Raging Wolves ---- W 45-6
May 8 @ Carolina Raging Wolves -- W 48-16
May 15 Central Florida Anarchy -- W 47-13
May 29 League Holiday
June 5 Tampa Bay Pirates
June 12 @ Carolina Raging Wolves

I guess that's from last years game against the Slam. D'oh. Well the Dixie Blues look prepared to go all the way this year. :)

Haha, so thanks for dropping in again. Pretty cool that you ran into the Ghostman. Maybe you can get a pic of Merecedes Smith with your Bluesmobile. Y'know and print it out and have her sign it, "To Steam, you hunka hunka burnin' love" ... LOL!! ;)

Talk to ya later, Aaron.

;)
