Has anyone ever done this?
I want to start it in my town and I'd be the first, I think. There's a coffee house in my town (which I'm sitting in right now because our home internet is borked up.) that I think would make a good "zone" for releases.
Anyone want to start it with me? You don't have to be near me, of course, but we could each try it out in our own areas and be n00bs at it together and talk about it.

I used to release books all the time - but I never was able to catch them. There were a few people in my town who did it, but I didn't get them.
The only time I was able to catch one was when there were planned mail releases. I can't remember exactly what they were called, but basically you put your name and address on a list, and a particular book was mailed from person to person. Although the appeal of finding a book in the wild was lost, it was fun to journal about the book and read other people's journals. Sadly, that book turned out to be kinda crappy.
I may start to tag a few books and leave them randomly again.
Glad to see the group still is around!
