Should this jewel be made into a Bluesmobile tribute or Police car replica?

Here is my 73 Fury III with original paint, int, top, 80k miles, 360 with working AC, working AM radio, perfect glass, chrome, etc etc. She is cherry and I mean cherry! She is not without her flaws, scratches, small dings, etc but she is nice. She was brought from ND to FL and has no rust at all! Looks like a new car on the underside. I normally don't have trouble converting low mileage original Monaco's into Bluesmobiles or any make of car for that matter, into a police car replica etc.

The 73 Fury is not even one of my favorite years but I am conflicted on this car for some reason. I have a 74 Monaco with 16K original miles, down to the original belts and hoses in storage waiting for a conversion into a Bluesmobile someday, and I will have no problem doing so just like TK did with his ultra low mileage Monaco. And no it's not for sale! Sorry:(

However this ole Fury III has me on the fence. I have already bought a 140 speedo for it, rubber floor mat, and some radio equipment. Yes I am aware that they used Fury I's and II's for police and taxi service. I have seen III's used for police cars though, maybe they were not police package cars but were in service as police cars just the same.

However I am still stuck on the fence. So the reason I am telling you guys this is I want your input. Should I convert it or not? I am leaning towards a CHP or NY st police, or CPD police replica. I prefer the black and white CHP but I don't know. I have even thought of the clean Mt. Prospect Fury replica. Don't know if they used them and don't care but I like the way it would look.

You guys take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. Also the magnet on the door is a left over prop from BB2K. I did that just for Steam and Mr. Mercer! LOL

Leave it alone or cop car clone?

Huey

I'm a little bias, so my vote is for the Blue and White CPD.

Or, maybe an ISP ?

CPD & ISP:
copcar dot com - The home of the American Police Car - Photo Archives
(The CPD is a Polara, but it gives a good idea)

ISP alone:
copcar dot com - The home of the American Police Car - Photo Archives

The NY version:

* I wanted to add that the car looks like real gem, no matter which direction you choose to go.

Beauty!! :D

For me, Huey, I wouldn't hesitate to make this Fury a Bluesmobile. It's already got the white roof and tan interior. But I'd paint the tractor mower B&W haha.

I took at look at the IMCDb and saw this '73. A solid colour with dog dish looks pretty nice too!

Too nice to mess with.I'd leave it as is.I would make an exception concerning the paint.Tan is a bit dull.

I'd leave her alone. Polish her up, and drive her to the malt shop on Sundays!

It's a sweet ride, there's no doubt and is a true example of a car
virtually untouched by time.

But... I'm going to have to respectfully disagree about keeping it stock.
It's only my opinion, but if it were me, I would at least change the color.

I know tans and greens were big colors at the time, but in it's current state, it
looks more like a Sunday cruiser (nothing wrong with cruisers ), rather than something that looks a bit tougher on the road.

I'd go clone, but maybe it's just a matter of a color change:

* Another note:
The blue New York car, shown above, I now see is in fact the NY Highway Patrol.
(It had me confused for a bit because in IL the State Police are the Highway Patrol)

Are these the State Agency colors you were thinking of ?...

Hey Huey , she nice the way it is with a polishing , but if your thinking of making it a cop clone do something unique . You know not like others you see at shows , maybe a little research on what departments used this year and model . Or maybe a big city fire dept car , who knows maybe a period correct taxi cab ?
Hard to believe that one Steam posted from evil-bay didn't get touched , that's just screaming police clone ...delete plates , rubber floor , plain jane everything .
Either way what you decide , you have a nice ride there but I'm leaning to the clone side .
Thanks for the Canada shout out there eh .
Take care . Chris .

hheheeh.

I think it'll be great as a civilian model, or police clone.
Whichever you pick, its still a boat.
And cool dudes drive boats! That's what I heard.

Wow, no concensus here! I'd agree with those that say no conversion, but perhaps a new body color.

Hey there Huey - I say either keep as is or clone it, but I don't see it as a Blumo. As it sits, it could be one heck of a sleeper for those who think a big car has no energy. Of course, a clone would make for an awesome display. Have fun!
