I don't know if anybody has heard, but I just found out this year at the Blues Fest the James Cotton Blues Band is gonna feature Matt "Guitar" Murphy as a special guest on the same stage. I dont exactly know which day or what stage they will appear, but I'm assuming the Main Petrillo Stage. The festival starts June 11 thru the 13th. Just thought I'd share that info. :BB:

Thanks, Kellie...great news. The James Cotton Blues Band is performing 11 June at 6:15 pm at the Petrillo Shell (main stage)...FREE!

see Chicago Blues Festival Schedule - June 11

Also...Charlie Musselwhite appears with an All-Star blues ensemble at 7:10pm on Sunday 13 June on the main stage...FREE. Note...I paid $45 to see Charlie in a pub when he toured Australia a few months ago.

Thanks for that post Jim!! You're a lifesaver! Seems I only got a pre-empted version of the program. Seems like the city is really getting cheap with it's programs!

Should be a great show in Chi-town.
One scary soul band as mean and righteous as a fist.

Still the largest free outdoor festival in the world, I think. :P Dedicated to Howlin' Wolf this year, in recognition of his 100th birthday. Looks like the schedule to see Matt with James Cotton has changed a bit. The June 11 page is now showing 7:20 to 8:15 pm.
