"Did you get me my Cheez Whiz, boy?"
I've heard a terrible rumor that the famous can was NOT Cheez Whiz! That can't be right...can it?
No Cheez Whiz? Say it ain't so!

I believe it was "Easy Cheese".
I remember that the old design came in steel cans that were printed with
a type of "basket weave" pattern design.
I believe "Cheez Whiz" was (and still is) sort of a generic term for processed cheese, especially in cans or jars.
Like calling all adhesive bandages.. "Band-aids", or all tissue.. "Kleenex".
Edit:
I'm pretty sure that's the Nabisco red triangle logo. (Makers of Easy Cheese)

Was 'Cheez Whiz' ever made in a pressurized can?
Did Cheez Whiz Once Come In a Spray Can?
Gotta be 'Easy Cheese.' Sure looks like the Nabisco triangle, as TK mentioned.

A myth busted! Did you get me my Easy Cheese, boy?...just doesn't have the same ring to it.
I'm still a little disappointed...like when I learned Lassie was a boy.

...or that the Taco Bell dog is a girl. If they got together and reproduced, can you imagine their gender-confused mutt puppies.
