It's for a 1976, so not quite the same font as the 74, but it has a $150 buy-it-now.

We see a lot of Royal sedans that could be excellent Chicago cop car clones. This is the perfect addition! Nice find.

However, tonight I've been catching up on threads since I was last active here in October... I'm totally amazed at your progress compared to mine. I've done nothing since then except fix an electrical issue. Your car is nearly complete and even signed by Elwood. Your attention to detail and the effort you've put towards getting all the parts will not allow me to keep these gauges. PM me your info and I'll trade them to you for the same price as the auction. It's the least I can do for all the work you've photo documented that I'll be repeating with my similarly conditioned vehicle. I'm only 28 and plan to drag this project out over a couple years at least, so I have plenty of time to find some more gauges!

If you're sure about it, I'll PM you my info.
That's the trouble with ebay changing everyone's user names to "anonymous".
In the past, on other (movie prop related) message boards, members could post their eBay names and the group as a whole could watch out for each other and try to avoid competing with other community members.
Now eBay has caused it to be... "Every man for themselves!".
I'm just sorry I didn't catch your above question sooner.
I think we actually drove the price up on each other
But, I don't think there is any other way around it anymore.
Even if you know other members ebay names, there is no way to tell who you are bidding against.
But... I'll send you a note shortly.
* Did anyone here get the 140 speedo?
I was this close ..][.. to hitting the "Buy it Now" button, but decided to hold out
for the proper "small zero's" of the '74.

Heh, I counted 5 times that the Blues Brothers is mentioned, plus all the other references. I suppose he doesn't think we're sophisticated enough to see the difference between 14o and 140.
It's a nice speedo, though ...

He also misquoted the "106 Miles" line.
That aside, I still hope I can get it for a reasonable price.

Prior to this thread, I sent him an e-bay "question" about 1974/1975-1977 too. I haven't heard anything back, either.
Not to worry, I'm laying low and won't be bidding on it. It's a much better fit for your bluesmobile replica, as I have my Marin County speedo (even though it has red tenths digit odometer).
I find it, weird, fascinating, and sophisticated, that the board seems to have moved into a strategy of thinking:
1) the majority of the people interested in 1974-1977 c-body Monaco stuff are people on this board.
2) when something comes up for sale, most people on the board are going to see it / find out about it before the auction ends
3) rather that everyone fight and bid against themselves, everyone simply not bid except for the person that posted it first.
I'm not saying it is a rule, or should be a rule, but it certainly has a lot going for it. It's like a strange reverse monopoly of buyers. It keeps prices and fights to a minimum.
your friend in minimum pricing, and maximum bluesmobile restoration,
arthur

Like I've said before, I have a spare odometer wheel with standard tenths digit if you want it. The only caveat is that you'd have to wait until mid June.
The way I see it with the posting of eBay auctions; I'll post anything I find that's Bluesmobile-related and, if it's a part I need myself, I'll inform the community so that we're not trying to bid against one-another. While I'd love a correct speedometer or Craig stereo, I don't want to bid against any other members here and I'd rather everyone be able to create their own Bluesmobile at the best possible price. Members here have been very helpful to me in the past and I'll return the favor whenever possible. It also helps that we're probably the largest group interested in these cars and most share a similar sentiment. This way, we don't drive prices up to a point where making a realistic Bluesmobile becomes a financial burden or, worse, a cutthroat endeavor.
I also don't think I'll be able to make a 100% accurate Blues Brothers replica due to limited parts availability, but I'm going to give it my all. This has been an excellent resource and a wonderful deployment project that I can finish when I get home from Iraq. Then just watch the updates.

I share your sentiment that the members of this board ROXOR!
> I have a spare odometer wheel with standard tenths digit if you want it.
Thanks; I've been keeping that in mind, but recently worked a trade with Bluzman. The recent flurry of activity at the panel beaters has given me easier access to my police motor and I'm trading some of my police motor parts for his sun-beaten 75 cert speedo. I'm excited that my police 440 parts will get a good home. And it looks like his 140 speedo has a black tenths. So I can use his odo wheels and needle on my 74 cluster. And then put my red wheels on hits 75 cluster.
Then, instead of the 75 being the worst possible example of a certified cluster, it becomes a wonderful item in my Monaco Museum of Amazement: the best case example of a sunbeaten speedo, with an example of red tenths replacement odo wheels.
Ok, I haven't really though out the "Monaco Museum of Amazement". Regardless, I'm rooting for you to win this e-bay auction!
