Is only a crazy fantasy, but imagine a musical number in Times Square...

Nah, not crazy.
The Blues Brothers brass section is largely influenced by the New York jazz style (whereas the guitars/bass/drums, is more influenced by Chicago and Memphis blues) -- case in point: Alan Rubin, taught at Julliard, a prestigious music college in NY.
This said, trying to get permission to *film* might be another matter -- or trying to meet the costs to do so!
But I wouldn't say the idea's that far out.

"The video is essentially recreating 'Shake Your Tail feather' from the Blues Brothers, a great scene with Ray Charles," said Zac Hanson Saturday morning.

Here's a short peek at what looks to be a rehearsal ... which has nothing to do with Times Square. I am not a threadjacker. lol

There isn't anything that hasn't been made into a play these days! I can see Blues Brothers on Broadway, The Musical! Who could we get to produce that? Cast suggestions, besides the obligatory obvious? The Blues Brother Revival Show is a gem in its own right, but it's time for something fresh.

Considering that the Archdiocese of NY is closing down one of it's schools... it wouldn't be a stretch at all...
Saint Michael Academy to close after 136 years among other Manhattan Catholic schools

A beloved Catholic high school in Manhattan announced Friday that it will close after 136 years - to the complete surprise of students and teachers.
Saint Michael Academy on W. 33rd St., which opened in 1874, will shut its doors at the end of the academic year, its 208 students and 20 teachers were told.
While the school community knew that the Archdiocese of New York was making cuts, they thought they were safe from closure.
"We've been processing and crying together for two hours," said Mike Radice, director of advancement at the school.
"This is a huge surprise, a very unhappy surprise," said Patricia Gabriel, head of the Federation of Catholic Teachers. "When I received the call, I was in shock. "
The Archdiocese had no comment when asked why it had decided to close the school. But a statement from administrators at Saint Michael Academy said the decision was due to "population shifts and changing demographics" as well as "the current recession, which affected the budget."
In addition to the closure of Saint Michael Academy, the Archdiocese announced last month that Saint James School and Saint Joseph School in lower Manhattan will combine this fall, and Saint Patrick's Old Cathedral School will close in June.
John McEvilly, a former business teacher who retired after 23 years at Saint Michael Academy, said the closure is so sad he's planning to "go back there and hold a wake to say goodbye."
"It was a wonderful place to work," said McEvilly, 65. "I can honestly say I was always proud of the students. The kids were always superb."
