Well, decided to part with some of my collection. Here's the skinny:
74 Monaco Hardtop - bought from a junkyard in texas 4 years ago. Had a vinyl roof and when it arrived I discovered water had leaked under the vinyl and rusted out the roof. The rest of the car is very solid. There are two additional places where water collected, one under the left rear passenger and in the trunk. The rest of the body is clean with some minor surface rust. The engine is a 400 big block. It runs. I have driven this car but in it's current state it is not ready for the road. I've spent the last few years putting mucho work into it. Here's where we're at.
Engine runs good with many new parts:
- New starter, distributer, plugs, wires, oil pump, voltage regulator, Alternator, brake booster.
Fuel tank was in bad shape - new one purchased and a new sending unit- it needs installed.
The air conditioning system has not been pressurized nor tested yet
The interior also suffered from humidity and water damage. The seats are all removed and stripped down to frames. I have the original coverings to use as a template as well as all the parts.
Now for the bottom line. I fully recognize I will not recover the money put into it. That's ok. I'm comforted by the fact that this is my second monaco and the reality is, I really only need one - thus the sale. I'm interested in $3000 minimum or best offer. Why $3000? Because with all the time, effort and cash I've put into it - for anything less I'd just prefer to dismantle it, pallet it and use it for spare parts for my running bluesmobile. We all know how difficult it is to find body panels, interior etc.
If you're patient, you can find Monacos out there for less but as with any resto job - the final tally is always a mystery. My belief is that another 5-6 thousand will have this car in terrific shape.
If you know cars, have time to work and understand the value of these cars is not the cost - it's the fun they bring and what you end up with, this is a great deal. This weekend I'm going to post the sale on EBay but wanted to give everyone here first crack. I've attached some pictures, I'm happy to provide others. If it goes through here and not EBay, this must be a cash or certified check deal. Buyer will have to arrange transportation.
Anyone interested, give me a PM!

trying to edit my post above - not sure why I can't.
I want to make it clear that though the vinyl roof leaked and caused rust - it has been completely replaced with a new roof. As I mentioned above, all the major body work has been completed.

Haven't seen this car end up on da Bay yet so I don't know if it is still for sale. Pittsburgh is only a 30 minute drive for me so getting it home would not be an issue, but I do not have the facilities to put this car back together.

there has been some interest here so I'm withholding an ebay auction for now....
as an aside I've added quite a few pics to the slide show. as I mentioned in the first post, some water collected in 2 places. under the left rear seat and in a corner of the trunk. You'll in the pics that while those spots need some new sheet metal, the surrounding area is quite clean. I've discovered in my journey that while MOPAR parts are easy to find - C body parts aren't. I'm confident that anyone who wants to come and inspect will appreciate how solid this car is and the amount of body work already done.

sadly, no one could see the potential so unless there's any last minute interest I'm going to tear it down for parts in the spring. I can use most of the body panels on my sedan as well as all the dash equipment. Looks like it's fate is to end up in pieces on 3 pallets. It kinda tears me up. I'd love having spare parts on hand to keep my working sedan running BUT to see a monaco torn down when it could be a working blumo for probably less than 5 grand total is depressing. no choice though, I need the space back in my driveway!
