oh THAT is cool .... but notice, like mostly everywhere, Danny Aykroyd is wrong written.
How much is he in the business? Sure for over 30 years, and they still cannot write his name right :D

People tend to think of them as John and Dan. They were the first actors to do it but they won’t be the last. When you see Kieran and Wayne you will see how they embody those characters and make them work. There is a spirit of Blues Brothers. It is an umbrella for the Blues”.

Great news for all, everybody could be an "official" Jake or Elwood... C´mon... It´s good to have new Blues Bros. stuff, but I´d like something with the original people instead of a tribute band...

You can guarantee if the show works, that original band members will do cameos.

Ha, I know. You should see TV Tropes. I can't *count* how many times I've edited an article on Tropes to fix the spelling of his name!

Still, this sounds neat. As someone else noted, it would be cool to have folks from the original band do cameos. Even Dan-the-man and Jim Belushi.

I'm excited. This looks really cool. I've seen those two perform before and I like their style.

Hmmm... It could have the potential to be good, but it also has the potential to be really awful. I'm hoping for the first part of my statement to be true rather than the latter.
I could see this show working for at least one season on a network like Showtime. (A movie channel would allow Jake and Elwood's adult language.)
But on a network like NBC or ABC? No, I don't think that would work at all. When I first read the article, I envisioned the show on NBC with a lame laugh track, corny jokes and being canceled after one episode.
Personally, I think a movie channel would work best for a show like this. Then again, some networks allow a lot more than they used to, examples: FX and Spike. But I couldn't see this kind of a show working on those kinds of networks.
If this does wind up happening, I just hope it will be good.

Judy Belushi Pisano tells Undercover.com.au, "I've written a script with one of the Saturday Night Live writers, Anne Beatts, and with Kieran and Wayne. ...We have scripted it over six to eight shows where they are on a mission down the Mississippi back to New Orleans".
Belushi Pisano is happy to see the characters played by new actors, 28 years after her husband died.
She adds, "What this has done has reminded me what great characters the Blues Brothers are. They are great American characters. People tend to think of them as John and Dan. They were the first actors to do it but they won't be the last. When you see Kieran and Wayne you will see how they embody those characters and make them work. There is a spirit of Blues Brothers. It is an umbrella for the Blues."
Still no mention of the car. My guess would be a P71 Crown Vic, with such a plentiful supply they could do all kinds of jumps each episode. With every landing looking perfect on screen, of course. :D

Launch vehicles - left, right and center. Good scripts and excellent music will also help lol! I would hope to hear the real Blues Brothers on the soundtrack each episode.

Ive been thinking about one of the newer crown vic's a as bluesmobile and it just doesn't seem to fit. its gotta be a Monaco "Mopar or no car!" as I've seen around here. but your right, those monaco's are in short supply, unless anyone with a 74' wants to volunteer theirs around here.

I gotta say, it seems, well..........I guess i'm kinda shaking my head on it.

Me too, bark0. There is only one way and one way only that this show could be successful ... an extensive chase/crash sequence each episode. The "new?" Bluesmobile will need to be expendable; P71 Crown Vic. Launch them ... launch them with an extreme disregard for public safety lol.

Cars should fly every episode.

It probably won't get a whole bunch of ratings! I mean, look what happened to the Cavemen, everybody thought they were gonna be extremely popular, with all their commercials and everything, and look what happened, they got pulled from the network because of poor ratings! And also, who in the world would they get to play Jake and Elwood and make it believable? Everybody knows there will never, ever, be another original Jake and Elwood, no matter who's cast in it! Don't get me wrong, I'm not trashing the show before it starts, all I'm saying is it probably won't be as popular as the movie itself.

Also you must keep in mind that in BB 2000, Jake had already died. So how can you make a TV show with Jake alive? Doesn't make sense. But, let's see what happens!

See I'm willing to accept BB2k because it had Dan and many of the original actors in it, plus it continued the story in a believable way. The original movie already covered Jake and Elwood's big adventure -- what the hell else do we need? It's not like Star Trek, where there are new planets to explore. Much of the rest of J&E's storyline life is spent in prison. Are these going to be prison tales? A musical comedy version of "Oz"?? I have a feeling this will do as well as the Animal House TV series, and we all know how that went... (And if you didn't know there was an AH series....that shows EXACTLY how well it did.)

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I would much rather see this as a reality show - or a show about what it is like to be in a BB tribute band. Or even make up a "fake" reality show, where you could have episodes where the tribute band meets such and such a person... or have Dan Aykroyd show up at a show, and have an episode around that. You could have weekly episodes that way, without having to suspend belief, or even to compare the New BBs to the original actors.

I think that would fly MUCH better.

Networks, are you listening?

I *knew* there was something oddly familiar about the boys... Elwood looks just like that man I was travelling with all those months ago... He even gave me my own key...

The show these guys do, the revue, seems very family friendly. Kinda like a show for kids lol, well it does seem like that. Hey, it's good fun stuff but there's definitely no edge, it's not the Blues.

Welcome to the Official Blues Brothers Revue

Makes me wonder what the target audience might be for this alleged television show? More than just my love of seeing cars flying, there'll probably be comparisons to them Duke boys.
