I have a few NOS Unity spotlight installation brackets if anyone is tyring to, or plans to mount a spotlight on their 74-77 Monaco (or Fury). It comes with everything, installation instructions, mount, screws, etc. Note that the spotlight bracket in the movie is incorrectly mounted on the inside of the A-pillar. Post a response if anyone is interested. This is for the bracket only, you'll have to provide your own light.

I'd like to buy your bracket. Is it the 216L?

Yes it is the bracket # 216L. I'm very impressed jamiemcf! You've done your research.

You guys (or anyone else interested) can email me at [email protected] to hammer out the details. Please put something specific in the subject line so I don't think it's spam. ~Thanks

Hello,

I am in the market to add a unity spotlight to my 75 dodge monaco bluesmobile and was wondering what size to use/what size would be accurate for a police (blues brothers) monaco? A 6 or 5 inch?
Thanks for any and all help

Hey bud,

Well I got two that are very close if not the same. But both are the old style, chromed metal that comes to a point (not a flat spot opposite of the light) The markings on the one from my Oldsmobile are clearer.

Its a Unity MFG Co. made here in Chicago and its model is an S6.
I do beleive the six, besides my measuring it makes it a six inch light. My understanding was that even the Bluesmobile's were exChicago cop cars and with Unity MFG Co. being here in Chicago they may have actualy outfitted them, so my best guess is that they are six inch ones. Hope that helps.

You can purchase them direct from unity spotlight company at this site: http://www.unityusa.com/catalog/spotlight_installation_kits_304449_products.htm

Scroll down the list of installation brackets---the number you need is 216 (for the Driver's side)----216RH is for the passenger side

now i know this sounds weird guys.. but does anyone have just the rubber handle for a unity spotlight? Mine is completely stripped on the inside and won`t turn the spotlight at all. To me its a hell of a thing.. and really the only thing wrong with my car ( brown 03 Crown vic) but it's just annoying enough. Anyone have one?.. or know of a good way to replace it with something more common? ?

any help is appreciated guys!..

You need one of the more modern rubber ones? If you could, shoot me a PM and we can go from there. I have a pile of spotlight parts, and I'm pretty sure I have a couple of Brand New Rubber ones. (I tend to not need the newer ones, all my cars need the older style.) We can coordinate in PM's and if I have what you need we can got from there.

I don't know if you found your spotlight parts you need or not. One of the places you could check is your local taxi companies. Some cab companies by used cop cars at police auctions and take the spot lights off. One of your local companies may have some just laying around. This can also be a good source for push bars too.

eBay had new complete lights for sale for only 40 bucks.... of course, it's the new plastic ones, and they are black, not silver........

It's why I have yet to buy it..... I dunno if I want to go with the modern look, or the new light.....

I`ve gotten close to the 08 Spotlights on my towns newest cruisers and I have to say they were quite nice. They are Not quite as deep as the older models, and seem to be made of a higher grade plastic than the ones from 98 to 07. personally I want to eventually switch my Spotlight out with an older All Metal Model, but thats going to wait until I get some paint and body work done.

EJ

BTW.. Anyone ordered direct from unity lately?.. I just ordered a new handle but have no clue about how long it`ll take to get here.

Hey everybody,
I just got a new spotlight for the Bluesmobile a while back, and I'm having a severe issue. I just got a new Unity light, which works, but I put it on the car and I'm trying to wire it up with no luck! Any tips please? Thanks!

First do you have an ohm, volt meter or some type of testing device? If you dont go buy one they are cheap and try the simpelest things first. It usually is simple.Ive had a few bad grounds that made me feel pretty dumb.
you only have a few places check for power and ground before the switch then after the switch. Perhaps the best place to start is the bulb. Youll get it. 59 strat

Hey Blues Buddy,

The wire coming out of the light is your pos+feed, so run this to your fuse box. Then you have to make sure the spot has a good ground with the A pillar. Try some electronic lube or grease on the shaft to make good contact if your shaft is rusty or hard to move this will more than likely work. The frame of the spot is your ground. Take out the shaft and clean it good and then lube it with a good electronic lube.

Hope this helps.

It's always a good idea to keep your shaft lubed.
