Well, Mr. Black, I can tell you that as an 11 year old boy in the summer of 1974, I suffered mental stress at the theatre with the rather abrupt ending to Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974)

It's old hat now, but I remember that being kinda shocking.

Far and Away had the stupidest ending ever. i shouldn't have been surprised, it was a tom cruise movie, but still...it was a great movie. why spoil it by having someone come back from the dead?

"Naked" with David Thewlis. Has the worst ending ever because it's the worst movie EVER MADE. BAR NONE. "Wired" is Oscar-worthy compared to that drivel. The only upside -- you get to see Thewlis, well, naked. If you're into that. Which I kind of am.

"No Country for Old Men" first comes to mind.

"The Birds" is another great movie with a stupid ending. Whatever happened to them after that?! Since I first saw it, I thought no way they could've survived...the birds would've ripped the convertible top to shreds!

i'm totally with you, i saw The Birds a couple of times and always with the ending it's like "what happened?" it just stops. Oké i am a curious type of woman, but it's also with The Rocky Horror Picture Show i mean the castle fly's away and what happened with Brad and Janet. Jeee

They went on to be played by other actors in the crappy pseudo-sequel, "Shock Treatment". Also a really crap movie, and not in that B-movie-on-purpose way that Rocky Horror was supposed to be.

Actually, "Shock Treatment" is supposed to be an 'equal' to "Rocky Horror." Sort of like, if that had never happened then 'Shocky' would have happened.

Make sense? I'm crap at explaining.

I watched it because it happened to be the only remotely interesting, non-rerun thing on VH1 late one night. I don't know if some of its good points are lost to the TV censoring, but I doubt I missed much.

Indepence day.

all that build up, all those special effects that made the film almost believable but then a US military pilot can then fly the alien wreckage from the roswell incident & stop the invasion threat using a computer virus from a laptop!

Because of course as we all know alien technology is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 95 (which would of been the norm when the film was made) & any viruses created for Windows also affect alien motherships (always remember that if you are using linux your PC will not be affected if some little green men try to steal your bank details)... Plus if you can fly an F/A-18 Hornet you automatically become fluent in flying alien space ships once you have engaged one in combat! :?

Dahmer (with the hot Jeremy Renner), well we know what happened with Jeffrey Dahmer, but why didn't they put more information in the movie? Like the ending he runs in the woods... that's all? We get not to see how they arrest him. How he got killed in jail? I loved the movie... but the ending sucks

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Blues Brothers 2000. I was expecting a huge car chase to help make up for the rest of the movie, but the last thing we hear from our Elwood J. Blues is: "Put on your seatbelt." Cue end credits.
