I... I'm sure there's a lot of us would like to meet Mr. Aykroyd, but you know, he's a busy man, and there's never any guarantee it's gonna happen, you know? Having said this, there's always vodka/wine signings, or the concerts, but... still...
If you'd like to contact him, there's always fanmail, like the rest of us do.
I'm real sorry to rain on your parade, sweetie.
~Theo.

Blogging randomly is going to be as effective as, say, an online petition - which is to say, not very.

its all about getting people to join and pass it along, you not have to read my blog, but knowing its getting passed around and having it reach to the people ive respected and admired for years.
have you ever been taught to help others and lend a hand? where is that now?

I'm just sayin'.... you're not the only one, and yes, it might be a touch difficult. We simply don't want you to get your hopes up and then get hurt, okay?

I'm okay with it, though. Just knowing he's out there, and being able to admire him from afar, is fine. : )

Honestly, if you want to use the internet to meet these people, you'd have more luck setting up an online business of some sort to earn some money so you could travel to a book signing or a concert.
The way that it is set up here it almost sounds like spam. That turns people off.
There are some websites and blogs that may get a lot of attention. Make your blog really unique, and maybe it will circulate. If it's a great blog, people will post it to their facebooks or link it. Make it fun for people to visit and pass it along, and you will have some luck. But just a blog? Which you admit may not be interesting... honestly, who would pass that around?
For example, there is the guy that took a photo of himself every day for over a year and put it into a video. There's the Manolo Shoe Blog. There's the Yarn Harlot's Knitting blog. There's Sleep Talking Man, where a woman posts the silly things her husband mumbles while he sleeps... I personally would visit a site where I can learn new phrases like ""Vampire penguins? Zombie guinea pigs? We're done for.... done for."
What I am trying to say is that in the world of blogs, you have to give us back something fun and original. And if it really is amazing, then people will visit.
I suggest people here give some good advice about what kinds of blogs would be really fun and have you try that... maybe they'll attract someone's attention and make their way to your list.

Yes, THIS. That's what my sleep-deprived self was trying to find a way to convey.
I thought building my own fansite would get me a ticket to meeting Dan. (It's now sadly defunct for varying reasons, that's why I participate here.) I've sent more than one piece of fan mail. I have my own random blog over on LJ, where I have mentioned Dan. I have been less than 100 miles from an event that Dan was at. I STILL haven't met the guy.
We're not saying that it's impossible to meet Dan, or that it's impossible for YOU to meet Dan, or that you SHOULDN'T meet Dan. We're just saying that your particular setup and plan that are trying for is the LEAST effective of any method you could use to achieve your goal, and to not get your hopes up. Like Jo said, it has to be Unique and Fun, and then it will have a greater chance. Theme it or something.

Thing is...if you can get something up on youtube or something like it or more places like it or whatever, and it's original and it says from your heart that you like the Dan man then there's a bit of a chance he might see it.
Cause come on, celebs are on youtube and youtube is a pretty popular site. So is Google vid or whatever that is. And celebs are just like everyone else and they might like to check themselves out, heck, some of them might get curious and type in parts of movies they've done and wind up seeing something a fan did and they may watch it.
Some celebs care about the fans. I know this. Ex: My bff/neighbor just met Alice Cooper, got his auto, and the dude was as nice as a candy coated strawberry...ok maybe a hardcore candy coated strawberry but you get my drift.
But whatever you do man don't give up. People might try to put you down (people here aren't trying to put you down they're just telling you that it's a slim shot of meeting the dude but if you want to meet him YOU HAVE TO TRY HARDER THAN WHAT YOU'RE DOING) but don't listen to them. Just get up, dust yourself off, keep moving on, and know that someday you'll meet the Dan man.

But we ARE giving you help - good, solid, strong advice of more effective ways to achieve your goal.
Imagine this:
You are in a lake. You can't swim. Someone passes by in a boat, and you call out for help.
"Help! I'm drowning! Throw me a car!"
"Um, wouldn't a life perserver be better?"
"Why aren't you helping me? Throw me a car!"
