We saw it last night in IMAX 3D. I was hopeful about the movie, skeptical about the 3D, but (in IMAX 3D at least) we really liked it too. First time since The Matrix I got a new sense of what a movie can be. Admittedly, the story is fairly simple, but it was told well and the 3D actually was very immersive and added immensely to the experience for me. I suspect if I'd seen it in a regular theater I'd say it was Okay, but nothing special, so the tech definitely was part of the appeal... raised it from okay to very good in my book.

I saw it in 3D. It was good. I was expecting an action film (the trailers sells the movie as that), but the whole thing was well done. I only regret that Cameron now is an "old cat" and he doesn´t do action like his previous movies (where´s the blood here?). You´ll find the Cameron from Titanic, not the guy from Terminator (I & II) or True Lies. Also, like Anna said, is more fantasy and less sci-fi.

Bloke on the radio said it was a cross between Jar Jar Binks and The Smurfs:DAnd the 3D is better after a few pints of beer.

Isn't everything?:(
I got everything I need....almost...

Isn't every story a good vs evil of some sort? This movie grabbed you by the shirt collar to make a passionate plea on so many levels. Class distinction, predudice, rain forest preservation, corporate greed and second chances.
I seldom watch movies by myself because I want to share the experience, interaction, elbowing and post movie dialog. However...I made an exception and became the better for it.

as evidenced, your mileage may vary. :P

LOL, I'm just ribbing a bit. Mostly because the producer dude is being such a pretentious ass about "OMG ITS NOT ANIMATION ITS SO MUCH MOREEE1!!111one!!1" It's probably pretty good and I'll probably see it.
