Buster and I watched an SNL parody of a swine flu clinic over the weekend... but the sketch starred Belushi & Aykroyd in the bee suits, and aired in October of 1976! The moer things... just stay the same, I guess.

Hah, yeah. xD There were references in the 1975-76 DVDs, too, such as Chevy's Weekend Update sections. There was also a skit where Jane and Dan are playing a married couple, and Jane and Chevy try to come up with excuses when Dan arrives home to find them on the couch together. Amongst them is Chevy diagnosing Dan with Swine Flu.

It was very strange to watch the early series and find myself thinking that a lot of things could, with a few changes of reference, be made to sound like it was referring to current events. Again citing Weekend Update, President Ford sounds so darned like George W Bush!

Things really do stay the same.
