Oh yay, another period piece for him! Loved his parts in "House of Mirth" and "Bright Young Things", but they were terrible movies! (Mostly because of the mediocre literature they're based on, but I digress.) We know Landis can handle a movie fairly well and keep it interesting, so this should be great!
I remember Stephen Fry being interviewed on a TV show here about "Bright Young Things", he said one of the highlights was when Dan Aykroyd walked into the room, and he released he was going to get to work with one of the Ghostbusters
I love the idea of David Tennant and Simon Pegg working together, both terrific actors with a great sense of humor. And John Cleese!!
Tennant + Pegg + Aykroyd + Cleese + Landis = EPIC :D
This has awesome written all over it.
Just doing some more reading, it looks like Aykroyd's involvement isn't 100% yet, Ealing Studios is stressing it's "subject to contract". I really hope he can make it, even though it probably means spending some time in the UK (hey, maybe he can use it as an opportunity to promote Crystal Head and meet some fans in between shooting?

)
The movie is being written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, whose only other major work together (that I can see) is "St Trinians" and "St Trinians 2".
According to Landis: "I am thrilled to be making a picture for Ealing. Burke And Hare have inspired a number of movies over the years, but Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft have written a unique and terrific screenplay which offers me a tremendous chance to make an historically accurate, very black, romantic comedy!"
I'm very optimistic :D
