I am thinking of buying a camcorder this month, to capture little one's first Christmas. I have video capabilities in my digital camera, but they are always so dark, and there is really no sound. Plus, how can I ever enter my guys up-and-coming silly videos into America's Funniest Home Videos if the quality is bad.
Anyone have a camcorder that they can recommend? Any price range... although the really expensive ones probably won't be purchased unless you tell me that they also do dishes...
OT: Camcorder recommendations

I hear ya on the sound thing! pun. The mic on my wee digicam is on top, not on the front. It seems I can barely hear what I'm filming, yet if I say something it sounds LOUD!
For these precious memories, Jo, you need a Sony! Haha, I wish they paid me for saying that but I've always been impressed with any Sony product I've ever owned. Looks like a nice one at Wally Gator-Mart for $280 ...

The Sony Handycam DCR-DVD650 camcorder has simple controls and powerful features to make it easy to shoot high quality video, including a 60x optical zoom lens and Steadyshot image stabilization. With Hybrid recording technology, you can capture it all directly to a DVD, or to removable Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media.

Santa got me one for Christmas... it's a Panasonic, but works fine.
Hey! Wait! How come Santa used my debit card to get me a present?
*shakes fist at Santa*
