....that I'd have less trouble getting a Bluesmobile than finding componants for the costumes. The biggest PITA was finding suitable sunglasses.
I never would have thought....

We drove all over the place. We found everything under the sun except non-descript black shades. We finally got a couple pairs at Target.Even the costume shops didn't have anything.

Funny. been finding those style shades all over the place. When I wanted two pairs they were no-where to be found, now that I have them, they'er everywhere! And in all sorts of odd colors, I came across of pink watfarers not too long ago, had to do a double take on them I was so suprised.

I managed to pick up a pair of Ray Bans for about £5 ($9), and they have lasted the past 6 months without any scratches or damage. Can't you find any in a local market? Good place to hunt for cheap bits and bobs XD

Not that anyone really cares... but one of my friends and I wore raybans for a spirit day at school... she has the ones with the hot pink frames. Mine are black frames with skinny stripes on the front and the lenses are tinted a dark roseish color.Another one of my friends borrowed my all blackones. Raybans can be found almost anywhere now in any colr, all black is a different story...

According to BB Central, costume section...Jake and Elwood wore Wayfarer II, black with black lenses, "Genuine 5022" written on the frames. It appears that this exact model isn't made any longer.
You can get Black Wayfarers at
Original Wayfarer RB2140 Sunglasses | Official Ray-Ban Site
At US$195 you don't want to lose 'em!
The boys from Texas had it right with 'cheap sunglasses' lol

Though they never really go "out of style," Wayfarers are on the rise in popularity as of the last couple years for the first time since the 80's. All the celebs are wearing them these days, hence why they're being mass-produced in all these colors now. I've seen cheap ones at Walmart, Target, Newbury Comics... I just order mine off the internet.
Just make sure you know what you're looking for. Many people are prone to calling them Ray-Bans because that's the company that makes the authentic ones. The term used to describe the style is Wayfarer. Walmart will definitely tell you 'NO' if you ask if they have Ray-Bans in stock LOL

The Salvation Army by me use to have a basket of wayfarer bootlegs next to the register. They were free with a purchase, so I'd always snag a fresh pair everytime i shopped their. Now i have real ray bans and a closet full of bootleg shades.
