SNL occasionally featured children -- Valentine's Day during the 75-76 season had a group of 3 girls who performed a lipsynch number. At the end, as everyone is gathered at home base, John is one of those who lifts the girls on to their shoulders. They also featured in the Samurai Divorce Court skit. There was another instance of kids cropping up during the 1975-76 season, and I'm assuming in this case that it was relative of one of the actors or production staff, but John is super-gentle and awesome with the kid. ^_^

He was a good man, and I'm sure he would have been an amazing father, and an awesome uncle to Jim's kids.

I think John would have had an issue with the fact that According to Jim;while better than most,is just another follow-the-formula,don't push the boundaries, watered-down sitcom.
People tend to forget that when Saturday Night (the "Live" came later) premiered,it was cutting-edge comedy.Say what you will about John, the one thing he loved to do was push limits and boundaries.
I think John would have some less-than-kind things to say about todays' network TV...he would have been involved in other projects, possibly out of movies and TV completely.
I also think Jim would agree,at least to some point.

I remember reading somewhere that John was beginning to grow weary of The Blues Brothers, and blues music in general, and was totally immersing himself in the blossoming Punk movement.
...but like you said dixie,we'll never know.

ah yes , the brothers the brothers , its all about the brothers .
sorry quoting wyatt earp there.
but though bills brothers , and dans brother is in the buisness, non of them have taken over a role left open by one who passed away . they all went thre seperate ways and there own style of acting .brian and joel are nothing like bill and they arnt even like each other .
if it wasnt for people asking about a second bb movie , it probaly would have never have been made.
though its an all right movie , it does not do justice to the first, even if jim was in it , i couldnt see it being any better, and if dan was serious about the project, it would have been done a lot sooner than 18 years later .

But they would only give Jim a job, because he is the brother of Mr. John Adam Belushi!
It was a chance for Jimmy, when John died ...

C'mon! Peter Aykroyd ... never heard about him in movies or so .... he is for me not a B-VIP like Jim ... maybe a category E-VIP ... nobody, and i know i'm right, nobody heard of him ...(okay some ... but he is really unknown), even his Brother Dan couldnt help him much ... and you know that

I think, when there's a heaven, John would be there on a cloud, looking down to Jim and say: "Good job Jimmy" ...
