Good question, Liz. I'm not 100% sure, but I would have to go with ... not. I don't recall Robert Redford ever hosting SNL.

because he is not funny , what comedies did he ever do ?
all i ever saw was period junk , and serious rolls .

Sometimes the people known for more serious roles are excellent hosts on SNL. Another Robert that comes to mind is Robert Wagner. Sure Hart to Hart had some tongue in cheek humour, but back in 1989 he was known more as a serious actor, I would say. And then he hosts SNL and to this day whenever I hear his name or see his picture I think of the OUTRAGEOUS skit he did, Sloppy Dinner Date. Some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen ...

Anyway Liz, I took a look and for sure Robert Redford never hosted SNL. I'll bet he would have been great, he's had lots of funny bits in his movies.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid was pretty funny,at least to me.......so was The Sting.

two of the all time classic movies ...ever ,,,,, but not comdies .....you had to be pretty sharp and to keep up with the plot in the sting when it came out , a real thinker.
