I know a number of you hate Blues Brothers 2000 and want to pretend that it doesn't exist and so forth...but since the 'Favourite Quotes' topics for the first movie are so many and various, I'd like to ask those of you who can bear it what BB2000 quotes you like.

I personally like Elwood's motivational speech, as well as little bits of randomness like...
Mighty Mack: Great. They have automatic weapons. We have carpet tacks.
Elwood Blues: There not carpet tacks. They're dry wall nails.

Dunno why I find that funny, but I do.
Anyone else care to share any of their favourite quotes?

I've always loved it when they go see Mr. Fabulous at the funeral

Elwood: Hey Mr. Fab! What time do you want us to come back tonight and grab the rings and watches of the corpse?

Oh, sorry, I completely forgot.

Best quote/moment of randomness in the entire movie is "Get that mound of moss!" which is yelled by a police officer. Cracks me up every time and I'm not sure why.

I'm trying to find the quote where the band refuses to play country music. Does anybody out there have that?

It's not country music, it's Carribean. I don't have my DVD at the moment, but when I do I'll type it up for you.

Definatly the "He broke my watch" quote mentioned above, lol.

Havn't watched BB2000 for a while. Got to catch up on it. :)

Elwood: "Don't look back."

And of course, everyone else in the band does.

Here's some of mine:

Bob - "Don't I know you boys from someplace?"

Elwood - "Yeah, well I guess he's(Jake) in a much better place" Notices the Jesus statue looking at him with a sad face. Elwood jumps.

Elwood - "Hey, the kid's a wiseass! -Wack- "Ow shit"

Elwood - (I think this is how it goes) "Ma'am, we're the Blues Brothers. We play blues, rythm and blues, soul, funk, rock, country, pop, rap, showtunes, and occasionally we've been called upon to do a polka. But Carribean, I'm sorry to say, is not, has not, nor will ever be a part of this band's repretoire.

Agent Peters- "Get that mound of moss!" Hysterical

Elwood - "Don't look back"

Elwood - "We've gotta get off this road. They've called ahead by now, and you can't outrun a Motorola"

Elwood - "The Lord works in mysterious ways"

That one line is something I've never agreed with. What are we supposed to call "Groove Me" on Briefcase Full of Blues? It ain't blues, rythm and blues, soul, funk, rock, country, pop, rap, showtunes, or polka.

That quote from BB2K sounds like Dan Aykroyd's apology for the "Groove Me" arrangement. :D

Yeah, never realizing it before, but those quoters are pretty funny. The ones that get me is when Mother Stigmata is wacking Elwood with the stick.

"The orphanage is gone. Jake's gone. Curtis is gone. I got no brother, I got no roots, I got nothin' for Christ's sake!"

Also when Elwood and Buster are in the car and Elwood is giving him a lesson in the word "sh*t."

Buster: Smells like dogsh*t in here.
Elwood: Don't say sh*t kid.

(Grabs what looks like a cigatette and the car cigarette lighter, out of Buster's mouth and hand, and throws them out the driver-side window)

Elwood: You don't need that sh*t kid.

This film was too campy, cheezy, and too Disney sparkles and puppy dogs. So yeah the sister has it right that a lot of us do not like BB2000. It has dumbed down and rehashed cartoony villans and no sustainable plot to my mind. Although I will admit, the Carpet Tacks & Drywall Nails bit is a nice piece of deadpan.
