I love each of his roles equally. Ghostbusters is hilarious and great fun to watch, and Blues Brothers is wonderfully endearing. Dragnet is good, too, though, and I know I'd feel safe around Sgt. Joe Friday as Aykroyd interprets him (though I'd be mortally frightened to get on his bad side *g*).

get when the band hits that groove, and the people are
dancing and shouting and swaying, and the house is rocking."

well i did'nt know that Aykroyd could be serious... untill i watched Dragnet... if you then look to his role in Loose Cannons.

You want to see serious? Check out his cameo in "House of Mirth" as the rich-guy villain! (But just rent it or get it at the library, because the rest of the film is awful and boring. Unless you also like Victorian lit, then you've probably survived the book and may enjoy it.) He's in the beginning third off and on, and a cameo toward the last half that's quick and mostly unimportant.

Yes. The Blues Brothers will always be my favourite movie of all time but Trading Places is also right up there. I remember seeing it at the theatre, and probably another 20 times since. The drunken Santa stuff was over the top!
