I wonder if it is on loan... or if he actually reacquired it from Steve Beshakes (?)

I was hoping that someday it would again be on display at CEVS, or at least some more pictures would eventually surface, but this kind of confirms that neither of these will happen.

So, this post gets a http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum2/public/style_emoticons/default/icon_cool.gif cool emote for knowing where it currently resides... but also a :BB: sad emote because it looks like it will be out of the public eye for quite some time.

Thanks for the video Flashcomix.

*edit:
I remember seeing an older video of Jim Belushi touring the "AtoJ" set.
(I know it was a different video because [in that video] he talks about the Chicago Bears photo near the front door)
But, I don't believe the Bluesmobile was mentioned.
I'm wondering if it is a recent addition to the set.

It might start showing up again. With According to Jim cancelled, that set has been dismantled for sure. Either it's back with Steve Beshakes, or maybe Jim owns it now?? I hope it's with Steve, at least we know he enjoys bringing it to car shows. If Jim owns it, it might be in his house for decades, which would be a shame. It should be shown in Chicago every year, would be my hope.

I remember carying that thing around while setting up one of the CEVS. One person can't cary it. It was really heavy. I remember it had some wires to make the headlights work and some of the small pieces like a sideview mirror had broken off and were sitting inside the car.

I always thought it was on permanent display at the Mt. Prospect Police Department?

Is it made out of lead? Heh, how heavy is it? I guess for some reason I always assumed it was made out of wood.

Its made of fiberglass or some kind of resin. It is solid including the tires and probably weighs at least 100lbs.

These are the pictures I took:

Thanks, Neums...question for ya: is there any way for me to get those pics of yours in a larger format? Via email or something? That is, if you have no objections....those are excellent reference details....:BB:

i'm pretty sure that the Bluesmobile Reference Model link is from Bluesmobile.net...that was the site that Lance Dobersek worked so hard on, and was very good, then. had a lot of pics from my collection on it too. eventually it got to be too much work for him to maintain...and he let the site name transfer to T (Tibor) Mazar ...he has a 74 Fury
psuedo-Blumo....and supposedly a monaco or 2 that he's been working on for a looong time.

as for the model...that (and freeze framing the movie) is how Lance did the excellent job on his highly acccurate graphics.....and anybody thats seen how accurate my BLUMO2K graphics are, will know that Lance's monaco is probably the most graphically accurate one out there.

i gotta say, that day , after the CEVS show, i drove steve beshakus back to his apt, and it was really cool hearing some of the stories he had to tell about the summer that BB was shot.:BB

I would like to see them, also...getting the graphics correct and accurate as possible is one of the biggest hurdles in building a BluMo replica....:BB:
