thanks for the links. I'm probably going to go ahead and snag one. What really sucks is that this is what he was delivering for me to put in the car (along with a good tan dash for my '75 and a rear sway bar for this one).

Was the idiot blind? What a kick in the balls!

Fedex should pay for and then deliver any new parts for free.

It should. My roomie drives a delivery truck and they had to go through the process of putting him on the company's insurance.

Yeah, they're gonna pay. Only question is how much. Going to be hard to put a price on something if you can't find one for sale. Car was actually a pretty nice original car with original paint still in great shape.

This has got to be pretty painful Beef - my sympathys to you and the Monaco. I would definitely be sure that Freak-Ex returns the car to the same exact 100% original shape that it was in before Mr. _______ (I'm gonna keep that part clean by omitting it) hit it. I'd follow these online leads, grab up some parts (send the bill to either your insurance or Freak-Ex), and then find a reputable body shop to replace them, paint them and check the remainder of the car for damage - I doubt the unibody has twisted or bent at all but you never know. At the same time, if you need to (and I would), hire an attorney to ensure that Freak-Ex covers every penny. I wouldn't deal with a major corporation alone. Don't know what your insurance company has said yet, but they might even hire the attorney on your behalf if you have your insurance company pay for the repairs then tell THEM to go after Freak-Ex to get reimbursed. Hope it all turns out well for you.

GO GET 'EM BEEF!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Don't worry, I am a lawyer so I'm not worried about IF I get paid. It's really just not something I want to deal with...ya know? The guy worked for a subcontractor for fedex and the owner dropped by today and made me a pretty decent offer.

My main problem is that finding a new header panel is going to be a big PITA not to mention now I can't get the hood open so no telling what other stuff I'm going to come across when I get to that point. I told the guy I'd have to get back with him after I get the hood open and drive it around some to make sure nothing else is damaged like the radiator.

I still can't figure out how the guy could A. miss the big 20ft land yacht right behind him and B. get up enough speed to do that kinda damage.

Hey Beef,

That sucks man! Of all the cars to back into! I have a grille and may have a header panel. The grille has a slight bend that can be corrected in the center. The header panel I am thinking of has a dent but is not bent in any way. I will look through my parts and see where I am and get back to you with pics. Oh and don't trash that header panel it can be fixed.

Later,

Huey

- Beef. No one else can read this. I know a guy who used to play hockey who can take care of the Fed-Ex dude. He needs the money > end private message.[/quote]

Beef, this is crazy sh*t.

Had that Fed-Ex driver ever driven a van before? Ridiculous. Couldn't see a car behind???

Beef, if there's anything positive to come out of this ... your car just notched another great story for the grandkids!! And thank Jebus parts are still available!!

It was all I could do not to put my foot in his ass while he was jacking up his van trying to get it unstuck from my car.
