I'm having several strange problems logging in (IE version 6, sometimes lower. Ugh).

1) I try to log in as normal (from the box at the top right), and it's not acknowledging that I've logged in at all. I try multiple times, but nothing.

2) I log in from the top right, click "remember me". It doesn't acknowlege my login (ie, blank boxes with "Username" defaulted in) until I click "Today's Posts". Then I am seen as logged in ("Welcome, takkuneg")

3) Clicking "remember me" helps me log in, but doesn't actually remember me once the browser is closed, then opens again. (This is okay, because I'm on a work comp anyway.)

Is it just the crappy old browsers or what? I'm having a bit of a problem with the updated versions of IE at the library as well.

...I can't wait to have Firefox back. :BB:

Looks like you have a "cookie-monster" somewhere on your pc?

Yes, I hate IE!
I have Firefox (or 'Crashzilla' as I call it because of stability issues) but it will remember the log on info. In fact I have the Blue Meanie icon for BB Cent. and all I do is click it and I'm instantly logged on at the main forum page...

One thing I've noticed (this probably isn't the problem but it may help someone else):
Make sure you're accessing the forum via
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum
and not
http://bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum

There's some cross-subdomain cookie issues, I sometimes login accidentally to one subdomain and when the site redirects me I have to login again.

Like I said, probably not the problem.

I can only guess that it's some kind of cookie issue unfortunately, somehow the browser's settings seem to be stopping the cookie from saving.

I have the same issue too. I have to log often, especially I am playing in the Arcade.

I am already logged in but the system asks me to log in.

I am logged through Soul Food Cafe - Blues Brothers Central too.

How can set up my cookies stuff ? I indeed suspect the issue is here. However, I'd point out that it was not like that some weeks ago while I changed nothing...

Sorry did you mean you access the site with or without the 'www'?
It has to be WITH the www, not without.

I don't think the issue is here, nothing has changed on the server at all. It's more than likely a browser configuration issue.

I'll try to find a guide on cookie configuration.

I've just made a change to the forum.
From now on, if you try going to:
http://bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/ (without the 'www')
you'll be redirected to:
http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/ (with the 'www')

This should prevent any possible cookie issues arising from this, but as I said I doubt this is the cause of the problem.

I have always accessed the site with the www. stuff in front of the URL. So the issue is not here indeed.

Thanks in anticipation for the info about cookies, Chris.

That might have been the issue. I never type the "www" unless I have to (like with our local newspaper's website - it acts like it's 2 different websites.) It's been solved with the forum upgrade though.

I have noticed that if you just type:

http://bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum (without the ending slash), it will give you nothing.

Good point! You're absolutely right!

Not sure what's causing that, it should be a simple htaccess modification.

Just tried a few alternatives, it seems to work for every page except the forum.

/mail works, so does /images.
But /forum tries redirecting to the wrong location.

Must be a problem with /forum/.htaccess...

Found it, and fixed it!
/forum works without the www, it redirects to /forum/ with the www.
And /forum/general-chat works without the www, it redirects to /forum/general-chat/ with the www :)

Thanks for letting me know :D
