A couple nights ago, I started up the Monaco to let it run for a while, in the cold weather.

I thought to myself... "The dash lights look a little dim".

So, I reached over to twist the headlight knob and brighten the lights a little.
(the first time I ever did this)

The instant I started to turn the knob... All the dash lights went out.

Everything except the bulbs that light up the words "Headlights" and "Wiper".
(Both of those switches have the optional time delay fade)

Sooo... I'm thinking it is the headlight switch?

Does anyone have knowledge of such a situation?

Could it be just a bad connection wire.. or possibly a problem w/ one of the pins, or should the whole switch be replaced?

If so, does anyone have a spare they would be willing to part with?

Thanks
-Damian

I'd check the back of the switch. Could be just corroded. or a bad switch

Thanks.

That was my first guess as well.
Now comes the task of getting it out.

This doesn't look like too much fun... :P

Probably the switch , like Scat said . I've had one where the lights wouldn't dim . They would be off till you turned to the brightest setting . How hard was it to get the dash pad out . I've had mine all apart opposite of your photo . Everything but the pad.
Switch is easy , theres a button on the side that you press to release the knob and shaft first .

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it was my photo.

I only posted it as a humorous example of what
I might be up against.

I found that photo online, of someone replacing the entire dash.

* Huey's perhaps?
