We asked Guest Services @ Universal Studios Fl about wearing our Blues when we visited the park adn they replied that they do not allow guests to wear costumes for some obvious reasons conflicting with their own Blues Brothers or whoever you dress like. BUT they were very nice about it and offered us an appreciated compensation for our visit. They must be pretty good folks down there. Looking forqward to the trip.

Yes it's a general rule that you can't wear costumes to theme parks.
Basically it's so the public doesn't think you work there, or else if you upset another visitor it could cause a lot of trouble for management.
But there's nothing to stop you from wearing your shirt, tie and shades, as long as you leave the jacket and hat.

Hats, Glasses, Ties...No Problem! But if you dress up like a Blues Brother and then steal a purse...well... they might just blame the wrong person. Say Hi when you get here and maybe we can get you "Backstage" if the management OK's it.

My question is what if you don't look like Jake or Elwood
Come on, will people really think that you work there if your (not being races) black and you dress up like Elwood? BBC, do you sell Blues Brothers tee-shrits? If you do I would live to see them. I once saw a guy that was dress up as Marty Form Back to the Future that didn't work there and didn't get into trouble. I knew because he want on every ride. I undrstand that why you can't dress up but you should at least be able to wear the shades and hat

You CAN wear a hat and glasses. No problem! Universal does not have the rights to sell anything other than BB2000 shirts. Sorry. However, I work The House of Blues just a few miles away and they sell EVERYTHING else.

Wow, I never even thought about that.

I don't know if they'd get ticked off it I wore my jacket. I mean, I'm way too short to be mistaken for Elwood.

This can even happen if you're not dressed as one of their characters, apparently. My husband was at Universal Studios Florida for his high school band trip. He had his face painted, fighting dragons on his forehead, and was wearing a pair of realistic-looking bone horns. People kept asking him if he worked there and several people were like "OMG, can we take our picture with you??" So somewhere there are random tourists with pictures of him in their photo albums.

Stupid people are abundant. I've had customers in Walmart think I work there because I was wearing a Walmart badge that very clearly says "VISITOR".

Yes, tourists are idiots. I play in the BB show at Universal and you wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked if the actors are the REAL BB. This next one is a classic....a woman came up to us all excited and said, and I quote,"You guys are great and I was telling my mother, that's REAL fat." (pointing to Jake's gut)

Nothing surprises us anymore.

One only has to look at Youtube videos and see the number of times people tag tribute bands as the 'REAL Blues Brothers'. Or people who say Jim Belushi was in the first movie.

Or people who post photos on Flickr tagged "Blues Brothers", just because 2 people are wearing sunglasses. Some of them are just plain embarrassing!

I've seen people selling t-shirts on ebay of "The Original Blues Brothers, Dan Ackroid and John Beluchi". When they've just taken a picture of a tribute band from online and just printed it on to a t-shirt.

Funny stuff in this topic. The thing that bothers me is when you know The Band will play in your country and the news on the net put an article with a pic from A TRIBUTE BAND (like the whole band of that tribute dressed as Jake or Elwood, or a closeup of the Jake & Elwood impersonators...). Shame, shame, shame... (like the song)

I agree with the shades and hat idea. I happen to wear my black fedora many places, not just because I'm a Blues fan but I just like the look. I also happen to wear my Wayfarers everywhere. Are they going to stop me if I happen to be wearing them together?

And yes, they do sell Blues Brothers t-shirts. 80sTees.com T-Shirts
