As of right now you'll see some improvements with the Private Messaging system:

First of all, you can now use the Display Options at the bottom of the page to narrow down the list, or search for messages from a particular person or with a particular title/date. This is especially handy if you have a lot of messages (like myself )

Secondly, when you're replying to a private message you'll now see a Quick Reply below the message, saving you from having to click the Reply button first.

Underneath the Quick Reply (and above Delete this Message), you'll see a heading called Message History, with a link next to it called View History. Clicking this link will show all the other messages from this conversation, so you can easily refer back to your previous replies.
This will only work with private messages that you have sent/received from today onwards.

What's with the "you have a new private message waiting" notice at the top of the forum before you login? When you click it it sends you to the the start of the registration process. Is there anyway to get rid of that? It reminds me too much of the "you have a crush" ads that are disguised to match the Myspace message center.

Chris has some reasons for it, but I will let him explain - as I will only misrepresent.

I've also mentioned that I find it annoying, too, somewhere in another thread. I spent about three minutes in a loop in there, since I thought it was some new info everyone had to input, not realizing it's just there for everyone.

Anyway, Chris is the man with the plan. If it is good for the site, I will just avoid that main screen as much as possible. I wish it wasn't so pink. And so loud. Oh well...

Yeah it was bad advice from another forum owner who suggested it boosts registration rates. It didn't work at all, maybe on his forum but not here.

I figured most of our members wouldn't see it because they were logged in whenever they visited, but obviously a lot of people visit as a guest and only login when they want to post something.
