As you guys know I'm performing on Wed. as The Blues Brothers with the song Everybody Needs Somebody to Love as a lipsync tribute to John. For this, I wrote something to be said before the act. I wrote this from the bottom of my soul and heart...please read this.
'This act is for Joliet Jake Blues aka John Belushi. John Belushi was a behemoth of power, comedy, music, soul, and love to which he used his talents to make people laugh. He was a man that one could always turn to after a bad day in hopes he would put a smile on their face. John Belushi died at a young age but nonetheless, his memory will live on as a legacy through comedy and blues. This is for you, John; rock on.'
For John.

That was incredibly heartfelt and genuine, I would have applauded loudly if I was in the audience

Good news everyone, this was read before my performance to which I only got a few woots and some applause considering the people in this town have a vague idea to who John Belushi is.
Nonetheless, my friends liked it.

....works for me! ^^
Okay so the show starts and at the last min. my partner tells me she's scared she'll get stage fright. I told her if she does just go into the moves we practiced. They say the thing, everyone is silent or woos while some clapped, curtain opens.
My partner was like the ghost of Jake; pale as a ghost and doing the moves we practiced.
Now me, I was getting into it like the driving lunatic Elwood is and we had the synchronization by some miracle done in time so I was happy and trying not to grin which was hard but it worked out good to which I gave the occassional smirk.
Halfway during the song of the moves, people started clapping for us in tune with the melody. My immediate thought: YES! YOU PEOPLE ARE READING MY MIND, THANK YOU! Okay, now I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 7459847498674890; what is it? XD
Nonetheless, we were awesome in it! My partner thinks otherwise just cause she had stage fright but we were awesome!!!
And we won nothing. Again. And yet the dude who won first nearly...well...*clears throat, turns red, looks away*...yeah....
Anyway, also before our show my friend/competitoner asked if he wanted to do Can't Turn You Loose with us for the heck of it. So I had my mini DVD case (I brought it to practice our routine with) and I tied it around my hand like the handcuff. He comes back and says he couldn't do it cause he goes on a bit after us and he was wearing alot of makeup which would mess up his playing cause he also had it on his lips. That and he couldn't get into the band room to get a sax.
However! I might be doing Soul Man live with him for the talent show and if not I'll be ballroom dancing to the Peter Gunn Theme from The Blues Brothers. ^^
