Sorry, I'm new to this place. I'm Magical Murph, and my name is inspired by Murph & The Magic Tones as you may have guessed. Anyway, since Christmas is coming up next month, and the holiday music is already being played on the radio, why not have fellow Blues Brothers fans get a good Xmas CD to play during the holiday season? I was in Barnes & Noble the other day looking at Christmas CDs, and I saw this

In The Christmas Spirit by Booker T. & The MG's. I didn't even know it existed, and I was like Booker T. & The MG's did a Christmas album? It must be good! It was at a reasonable price, and I had some money burning a hole in my pocket, so I picked it up, and this a great Christmas album. It's also good chill music for the holidays. For example, one scenario where this CD could be used right is on a cold winter night when you're sitting by the fire place with someone you love, whether it be family, friends, or your soul mate. Or if you're in a coffee house enjoying some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, it works good there too. This is a great disc. If you're a fan of Booker T. & The MG's or are just looking for something different when it comes to Christmas CDs, this is a good place to look.

Interesting.
I've never heard of it before.

Does it have a rock/ soul beat, or is it traditional christmas music?

Murph ... straight up ... are you a spambot?

Lol. Y'know, for a guy whose named Magical Murph, ya think maybe he would have found this to be an incredible place to hang out and talk about Murph and the Magic Tones!

The wonder of the one hit wonders. Signs up (Nov. 7), logs on, makes one post managing to mention a giant corporation, and having the name of another corporation in the picture link ... never comes back.

Murph ... dude ... if you're human, I apologize for speculating.

If you're a spambot, here's a link to CD Universe for that same CD, just to piss you off! LOL! Heartless, void of emotion spambot. :D

Thanks for that link, Steam. You can listen to the tracks, too.

I personally will pass, but it's a nice way to preview!

In my opinion, I think it is a great album. I dig X-Mas instrumentals.

I didn't realize that Booker T & The MGs had a Christmas CD until I read a review of it online a few weeks ago! I love their music, and y'know, I do remember hearing their rendition of "Jingle Bells" on the radio!

I was looking to see if the library had a copy of it (I'm a "try before you buy" kinda guy), and they didn't....but my wife got it for me for Christmas. :) Haven't had a chance to hear it yet, though...

Shotgun sent me a copy of this as a Christmas gift this year. It's not one I'll be playing in the Bluesmobile, but it did make excellent background music to (a) open presents to Christmas morning, and (b) have on while chatting with Shotgun a couple days later. Very mellow and very nice album.
