In case this hasn't been posted here yet (apologies if I missed it while on vacation), here's a different kind of ad for a vodka Dan is endorsing. Sounds like this was originally thought to be a viral gag but quite a few folks are claiming it's the real deal, haven't checked for myself yet!

Very interesting, Bismo! A great intro from Dan, especially for them crazy UFO folk!

I don't know if it's real or not. The crystal skull thing is real ...

I think the rest of it is bogus. "Word Of Mouth" PR?

I believe now it IS legit... checking out Jim Belushi's Sacred Hearts page they've labelled their Dallas HoB show as "launching Dan Ayroyd's [sic] SKULL vodka". Have to track some of that stuff down!

More pics of the product and potential ordering information ...

The person who answered the phone at the big liquor store nearest me has not heard of it yet, but I have the 1-800 number for the head office. Unfortunately I missed their office hours, but I'll try 'em again tomorrow. Very cool find, Bismo!

Nice! Next question, will it be affordable for the Unwashed Masses (like us)? Bottle alone's gotta cost a fair amount! Will definitely be looking for it, though.

Looks like Hi Time Wine has it for $42.99.

I forgot to call the 1-800 today to find out when my liquor store will have it. It's roughly double the price of a basic Vodka, but I will buy one when they arrive. I want to drink out of the skull!

The vodka may be real, but Crystal Skulls are all forgeries.

Sorry, folks.

All I know for sure is that one day I fully intend to drink a massive Screwdriver out of this skull ...

And if the skull starts to talk, like the one Dan mentioned, then ... well, heh ... I guess I'll hit the sack at that point.

My local shop hadn't heard of it but will be on the look-out. I'm hoping next time I'm in Boston maybe I can find it there... definitely looking to get one or two but I'm not a huge vodka drinker (tho I like it okay) so no rush!

Looks like it's available, so far, in California, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, and Texas.

http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Crystal-Head-Vodka-908228.html

In Canada ... Newfoundland, then Alberta and New Brunswick. I guess I'll see it in my store sometime in '09.

It was quite a scene when Dan Aykroyd turned up to sign bottles of his new brand of vodka, Crystal Head, at Lee’s Discount Liquor. Kyle Bailey of Las Vegas showed up in a Ghostbusters outfit with an armload of movie souvenirs for Aykroyd to sign. Army National Guard recruiters Sgt. Augustine Reyes, center left, and Sgt. Ted Ziegenfuss stopped by to get their picture taken with the actor, comedian, singer and writer. Jennylee Berns, left, was one of two models helping with the signing.

Those are the crystal skulls that provided the inspiration behind the bottle design.

He talks about it, on the above website.
It seems to all tie in w/ his paranormal interests.
