Well i wanna see a new DVD with maybe Dan and John Landis do commentary. Maybe put some outtakes in the DVD along with maybe a new documentary. Any other suggestions?

That would be good, but I don't think there's any outtakes around!
All the extra footage was destroyed, and I'm sure that would include outtakes.
The documentary on the DVD contains the only clips available.
It's a shame really, because I would love to see the Blues Brothers playing 'Sink the Bismark' at Bob's Country Bunker!

I also wouldn't mind having another commentary by the Band with Elmer Bernstein and Ira Newborn on the putting together of the score, and maybe a stunt coordiantor featurette. If Aykroyd's up to it, maybe they could do a VH1 special concert, bringing together everybody from the last 25 years still alive for an all-night blues jubilee the likes of which we'll never see again. Oh, and if the speical Silver Anniversary DVD soesn't fly, Universal might want to consider rereleasing the original in theaters for the occasion (maybe even do a couple midnight airings like they've been doing with the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the last quarter century). In short, anything big and memorable.

i think there definately is a chance that we will see a better dvd release of the film. when "animal house" turned 25, universal released a special edition, too. as bbcentral said, there probably is no more additional footage (may the person responsible for this burn in hell ;-)) but new interviews and audio commentaries are possible.

I agree. Who is the assclown who threw away the original?! But even still, you'd think John Landis would have a copy of the original somewhere. Anyway, they should have new commentaries and possibly they could talk about the scenes that didn't make it to the DVD. That would be interesting.

I think that they should show the movie in the theatres again, and also, they should make toy models of all of the noteable cars in the movie, like they're doing with the James Bond and Johnny Lightning cars.

Some sort of BB reunion would be sweet, but what about Matt Murphy? Just how bad was his stroke, anyhow? I have been trying to look up some info about it, but get nothing. Anyone know how he is?

I'm hoping that somehow, some way, they can find the lost Picwood Theater "Intermission" version of the movie for the 25th anniversary DVD. That's probably a pipe dream, though. I'd settle for an Aykroyd-Landis commentary track, and some interviews with Carrie Fisher, Aretha Franklin, Henry Gibson, etc.

A new DVD would be great. The Extended Edition has got a great 'Making of' but not much else.

I'd do anything to see the Sink the Bismark number. After I heard they did it I listened to it and it's actually a rather good song. I can just picture Elwood doing it (or maybe Jake, in fact it would probably be a shared number with them doing a verse each or whatever)

I don't think finding the "Intermission" version would be impossible, just pretty unlikely.....

But I do think it's interesting that the trailer for the film on the DVD includes footage and lines that are not in the film. So I guess we can hope..

A re-release with commentary would be good though since the DVD does seem to be out of print....maybe they could include some SNL skits or it would also be nice if we were given a peek into what the plot would have been for the original sequel (the "Return of the Blues Brothers" that supposidly was written around the time the first move was)

I'd like to see Universal put out a Blues Bros. Ride in addition to the show. But I doubt it

I want to see some of the footage where Belushi and Aykroyd entertained the croud by doing some songs and talking to them. That would be awesome to see. That's a Blues Brothers DVD special feature!!

I would love for Dan Aykroyd, and the rest of the band, come around to all different cities in the US, and give autographs, and a free suit with the sunglasses and the hat, or something like that.

Since it says that the Blues Brothers "Live at the Universal Amphitheater" bootleg was recorded in August 1980, and there was only one concert in August, it appears that the bootleg is a recording of the last BB concert with Jake.
