So...I order two Hohner Special 20 harps -- an F and a D -- from an indy place....nearly a month goes by and they don't show up. Turns out they tried contacting me because they were out (and my spam filter was overactive!), and Hohner just jacked up their prices, so instead of $21 per harp, it'd now cost $27 per harp....eck!! So I got a refund instead. (Good thing, too, because my wife's a teacher, and her summer pay just ran out so until the school year starts up again we're living only on my income, which is impossible -- thank God for savings!)
But...anybody know where I can get a Special 20 for cheaper than $27 a pop??? If not, I just might go for the Lee Oskar...my A is a Lee Oskar; not the easiest harp to play, but it is a quality harp...
The blues harp blues....

idk Dauber, I`d try loosening up the Lee oskar a Bit. All of mine were a little tuff until you really play them, then they become, IMHO, Easier than the special 20's

In my experience a Lee Oskar will last about 3 times longer than a Hohner. What you sacrifice in tone (very slight) you more than make up in cash savings.

The best harps are the Hohner Bluesharp MS and the Hohner Marineband:BB:

I don't really like the Marine Band that much...too tough to bend, and the pearwood comb goes bad -- and I pretty much destroyed the two that I tried to seal!
