Has anyone had to make a pushbar for a Crown Vic? I am looking for maybe a diagram or dimensions so I can get something made at a metal shop. What kind of metal is used? I think I've got a few ideas for the rubber on it from another thread.

You mean the Old style Crown Vics right? I think.. and this is honestly just a thought, that there are plans floating around for the original Monaco pushbar, and since the BB2000 one was essentially the same, those plans would help...

Yeah Elwood, mine is an '89 CV. I found the Monaco pushbar plans on bluesmobile.net, but that one attaches to the front of the bumper. From what I've seen, the CV pushbar is attached to the top of the bumper. I may resort to that if I can't find anything else and just modify it to fit the CV.

I was looking at some pictures and it seems there is a bar for the pushbar across the front of the grill. How is that attached? Anyone with a car from the movie that could help? Thanks.

Thanks Blueblood. So it's not connected to the grill at all? Just a bar in front of the grill?

I could take measurements tonight. My car is an original movie car.

Thanks Neums. That would be great. I have the drawing from thebluesmobile.net for the Dodge Monaco pushbar, but the more I look at it, the more it is different.

All the pieces are 1/4" x 2 1/2" steel plate. The rubber strips are 1" x 2" x 21 3/4" and are glued to the steel plates.

Thanks Neums. That's a big help. Blast those optical illusions! The screws on the top and bottom are two separate screws right? Not connected at all? What size would you say the screws are roughly? Thanks again Neums. That's a big help.

Yes, they are separate screws, which probably wasn't a good idea. You would get more strength if it was a single long screw going through the bumper and bolted underneath. These weren't made to be functional though, they were only supposed to look good onscreen.
