Hello! New to the boards, my names Jeremy. I reside in Detroit MI.

Long story short. I've always wanted to do a Bluesmobile! I searched far and wide for a 74 Monaco but couldnt find one. So I settled for a 77 Newport. Its no Monaco, but it fits the part!

Here's some photos from start to finish, oh yeah, picked the newport up on ebay. Paid $800! Bought it from an old school teacher. Car was practically mint.

I've seen some of your blues brother photo's on flickr. Really neat!
Especially the old school ones where you took your bluesmobile to chicago back in the 80's. I bet that was a blast!

That is a nice job, I look at the car and I dont see a Newport personaly, I see the Bluesmobile!, Dig the back drop!

Oh And I'd bet judging by the proximty of your neighbors they probably thought at first "Oh how nice, he's restoring that old car", Then a few days later they freak out by the new sight in the drive next door! Ha!

Excellent presentation of pics, Jeremy. What a score for $800 for that big old Newport. As far as tribute cars go I'd say you did a great job on that car. It's your Bluesmobile and what a nice big old car. Beauty!

*UPDATE*

Added some more things to the car since I've had it. Fabricated new pushbars, now functional. Threw on a Unity s6, new carb and some other goodies. Pics will be up tonight! Getting ready for the Woodward Dream Cruise! Woot!

There's a lot of good pics in this thread I could see. I like it! The paint roller pic is awesome - and the paint job turned out nice, too!

I haven't been on myspace in bit. I'll try and get most of them up on here either tonight or tomorrow. But yeah, I believe you have to sign up for myspace to view them. That sucks.

Yeah, for paint rolling all the black, if you didnt know, you would never know it was a paint roller. lol :D
