I just came back from seeing Booker T & The MG's - wow what a great show!

The band (with Steve Potts) was in great form and the guys played a really fun show.

Fantastic!

I'll post photos soon.

OK everyone,
A quick and dirty review here of the show! The venue was the Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater in Apple Valley, MN, just a few miles South of Minneapolis. It was a beautiful outdoor facility, around 1,200 seats.

The band seemed to be in a good mood although they had a "bad" B3 during the sound check so prior to the gig another was brought in. It appeared as if all the equipment was rented locally (Steve Potts kit, Steve and Duck's amps).

Steve was the showman as usual, encouraging the crown to get into the music which was not an issue as the crown was pretty hot to begin with. Two things that were really funny was the lack of a solid setlist which caused a little confusion. Later in the show, Steve was forgetting chords and Duck had to yell the changes to him as the song progressed. Booker has a huge smile on his face as did Duck because as Steve kept screwing up, those two had to try and cover which led to a few (ok, a lot, LOL) off notes.

Overall it was fantastic, the sound was REALLY nice and the setlist was more than I could have asked for.

When the band played "Soul Dressing" and "Soul Limbo" back to back, Steve said who would have put two "soul" songs back to back into the program, "it must have been Duck Dunn." Duck responded by saying "I **** in church."

Here is the setlist (in not the exact order but close):

Gotta Serve Somebody
Melting Pot
Booker Loo
Soul Dressing
Soul Limbo
Summertime
Hang Em' High
Double or Nothing
Hip Hug-Her
Time is Tight
Sarasota Sunset
Green Onions

Ah, my apologies for my profane Duck Dunn quote! I should have "*" the statement originally.

For those that wondered, four asterisk's could mean a lot of things but think of a word that sounds like "hit."

Even though this tune isn't in the first movie, I enjoy the fact that it's 440 in length and I was view 106. :)
