I tried a search and couldn't find anything so I hope this isn't a repeated question.

I had heard several years ago that when it came time for the production of Blues Brothers 2000 that Jim Belushi was supposed to be in it as a relative of Jake's. He had just prior to the production been in a series called Total Security and it had gotten canceled. He was going to do the Movie but then the network ordered more episodes of his TV show and he had to step out. Just after he was replaced by Goodman the network cancel the show once and for all.

Like I said this is just something I had heard and was wondering if there was any truth to it. The main reason I question it it that this is exactly what happened to Peirce Brosnan when he was originally signed to replace Roger Moore in the James Bond films. Remington Steele was canceled he sign up for Bond then Remington Steele was reinstated and he had to drop out. Timothy Dalton was signed on and Remington Steele was dropped again.

sorry I'm a little long winded.

I hate the story, that Jim Belushi was "replaced" by John Goodman.
John Goodman was also a Blues Brother, replacing "Mighty Mack Teer" ... Jim Belushi is still "Brother Zee Blues", but he couldnt step in the movie ... thats all ....
NOTHING WITH REPLACEMENT !!!!
(Okay, Jim was replaced by Joe Morton, but he had an own character, called "Cab Blues")

Actually, "Cab Blues" and "Mack Blues" are nonexistant. "Mack McTeer" and "Cabel (Cab) Chamberlain" are the character names. Elwood, Jake, Buster, and Zee are the only ones with the last name "Blues". (And no telling what Buster's real last name was before Elwood started calling him that.)
