Saturday, August 2nd at 9:00 pm.

The Blues Brothers
Venue:MGM Grand Theater
Length:90 min.
Synopsis:The Blues Brothers performance at MGM Grand at Foxwoods will feature a high-energy, authentic, rhythm-and-blues showband – with a South Memphis accent and an East Texas kick. Comedians Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi will entertain guests as they sing and dance their way through all the greatest Blues Brothers hits.

Founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi the Blues Brothers originated as a skit on Saturday Night Live featuring a high-energy rendition of Sam and Dave’s classic “Soul Man”. An overnight sensation, The Blues Brothers rendition of “Soul Man” sparked a national summer tour, two platinum albums and the landmark feature film, The Blues Brothers. Jim Belushi has since taken his brother’s role following John Belushi’s passing in 1982.

The MGM Grand at Foxwoods is located in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

That's great news, Bismo! I just checked for what seats were available. Looks like the orchestra is sold out already. It showed me left side of the parterre were the best seats available. Is that where you'll be? Either or, any seat in there will be great. Congratulations, lucky dog. :D I know we'll get a good review out of you. Do you know if cameras will be allowed?

Saw parterre when I tried TicketMaster too (what the heck does "parterre" mean, anyway? Yeesh, these places are too classy for me!)... but I tried buying through the MGM's own website and was able to get Orchestra, row S. About the 19th row on the floor then, I'd wish for closer but I'll take it!

Don't know about cameras yet, but I did call and confirm that it was an "all ages" show, so Buster can go with me. I bought three tickets and called Shotgun, but he's not able to go... I didn't think he'd be able to since we just finalized our big Florida get-away but he had first dibs. Ah well... figured I'd then offer it to my "Mighty Mack" sometimes-partner, he says he's out of town... though he tried to get out of it... it's his anniversary trip though and his wife wasn't going along with that! Got a few other friends that I'm sure will be interested. (Shotgun suggested I use the 3rd ticket for the Bluesmobile, just drive her right in.... hmmmmm!)

So yeah, I'm mighty stoked, but it'll be bittersweet after all these years seeing them without my Jake! But we're holding out hope we can score tickets to the presumed opening show they'll likely do for the Boston House further on down the road, and Jake's committed to making that one if we can score tix.

Thanks again for pointing this out though, I hadn't heard about this show even though it's nearby so I owe ya several large beers!!

I went directly to Foxwood's webpage -- I would suggest the same (the seats are WAY back, but I am thrilled just to be going!)

Ticketmaster listed the show as sold out -- but Foxwoods had, I think 10 or so tix available.

Good luck, let me know if you get them!!

Same here, I've been waiting a long time to see the Brothers live. Was outside the original House of Blues in Cambridge the night they opened in 1992... saw a lot of the band members go in, but didn't get in. Was at Mohegan Sun about 4-5 years ago for a "free" concert in the Wolf Den there... we were 3rd and 4th in line... and didn't get in. All the seats went to VIPs. (I was not happy. But did get to shake Danny's hand on his way in, and also Chevy Chase's for what that's worth.)

I feel like Moses trying to get to the Promised Land and I'm still wondering if something will go horribly wrong tomorrow... naw, must not think that!

And even if we get there, my brother Jake won't be there, he's stuck in Missouri still for now, so that'll be a bit bittersweet. But, Buster and I will be bluesin', I'm sure!

Looking forward to seeing you all there.... later tonight!
