As a self proclaimed guardian of the Blues Brothers Band legacy, I have been searching high and low for ANY information on our beloved Matt "Guitar" Murphy.

That said, I am overjoyed to present this to you - from approximately one month ago in Coral Gables, Florida:

Matt "Guitar" Murphy
One scary soul band as mean and righteous as a fist.

I'm overjoyed that Matt is doing so well, and equally happy that these videos were recorded in Miami! Tobacco Road is a great blues club (I've heard that for years -- never had the opportunity to go).

Keep it up, Matt. Cropper, tell him we all love him and wish him the best!

From a fan since SNL (and I loved you and the band in concert in Columbia MD in 1980).

Miami, I wish I was the Colonel but I'm just a fan - trying to pay tribute anyway I can!

Wow. Matt looks great.
Never seen him play telecaster before. But what ever type of guitar Matt Murphy plays, the sound is going to be nothing but tremendous! :D

Music can keep you alive and well (despite the miseries of age sometimes). That's true for many musicians (both classical or modern) and it can be a great therapy too. Hope Matt will keep on like this. We'd like to have some people with us forever.

For me, even if they're always good, the band is not really the band without Matt Murphy. When i saw him first in the movie, i thought he was an actor! I discovered, later, what he did with Memphis Slim, James Cotton... What a blues guitar! And what a nice guy. I remember him walking and sitting with his guitar on the street, signing autographs and talking with fans, in Paris, after the shows at the Olympia, in 1990-91. My favorite photo is from this date: Me and Matt in the street, like two old friends!... Hope to see him again, he looks good!

Hey Gavri, I don't remember to have welcomed you here. Another French person here !

Any possibility that we may have a look at that pic of you with Matt ? (Maybe I'm just too nosey... sorry...)

thank you Vinnie!
The problem is that it was a long time ago... before the numeric! It's a good old photo in paper (these photos we don't lose in a bug!) that I must scan!

Same here, I don't have a digital camera. Still working with paper. Gotta go to work to scan my shots in order to post them around. Or rely on the generosity of other people with digital stuff.
