John Lee Hooker... died 7 years ago today (6/21/2001). 7's not a "magic" number, perhaps (except in craps?), but JLH was probably the biggest influence from "graduating" me from a Blues Brothers fan to, a BLUES fan, so always a notable day for me. I drink a few bourbons and several beers (no scotch in the house tonight!). Boogie On, John.

Aw man, same here.

Don't tell anyone, but he's the only act I liked when I first saw the movie!

RIP John Lee Hooker

joking, of course.

Now is a good time to ask this:

When Jake,Elwood and the band are on their way to Bob's which version of "Boogie Chillun" was playing?
I got everything I need....almost...

"I was growing sick of rock and roll, it was starting to bore me...and I hated disco, so I needed some place to go. I hadn't heard much blues before. It felt good."-John Belushi

(Still inspiring me--and knowing me like a book)

Not sure, but it's the same version I've heard on 3 different Hooker compilations. I can tell you it's on Boom Boom and Other Classics.
